Heavy Rain (ps3)

hey all i was just wondering if anyone owns/played this game. It looks damn good and has got very impressive reviews saying its going to change the way ps3 games are made. For those of you that dont know what it is its sort of like GTA (killing/robbing etc).

Can anyone shed some light on this? i want to buy it but want to know if its as good as it seems.

Im of the impression that heavy-rain is more of a 'detective' style game than an open-world third-person shooter?
You play as 4 different people, and your actions can have dire consequences on the outcome of the game (if a character dies, they die for good - and all main characters can die)

I don't own a PS3, but there is another game coming out (can't remember what its called),
its purely online and its a bad-arse looking FPS in the ilk of Battlefield and COD. It looks good. You can have something like 64 people online at once.

I love FPS myself, Bad Company 2 is a winner.
MW2 was a bit of a let-down, far to repetitive (MP)
Operation Flashpoint 2 was a let down, should've been the greatest thing
since sliced bread. Was good, graphics were lacking, not enough variety for
single mission, etc.

Patiently waits for the day the ultimate, semi-realistic (or realistic) FPS gets released.
6days in Fallujah (sp?) could be good so long as it doen't get killed by the censors.

its pretty much as said, like playing a movie, u play 4 characters and you choose actions that you want to do, each action resulting in different ways for the game to end. The gameplay is brilliant, its very heavy on the drama and the camera angles the game gives you are very cinematic

thanks mate just what i was looking for and hoping. will be purchasing it tomorrow.. gonna trade in some games i dont play (uncharted - possibly the worst game ever)

Bought Heavy Rain last night and god damn its good.. graphics are really good

Heavy Rain is absolute crap...for the first hour or two =P

But then as you play it sucks you in with its mysteries and what not, I explain it as one of the Goosebumps 'chose your scare' books haha.

Crazy graphics, a million and one choices, great twist at the end, my jaw hit the ground =P.

Now its ended although I could play and do other choices, it wouldn't interest me again, that is if they don't bring out DLC.

Upgrading my HDD so I can DL the assasins creed DLC, then back onto Mw2 =P

Is it much of an action game? (Heavy rain) Im considering buying it this weekend but unsure if its action or more of a directors point of view just choosing what the character does then watching it playout.

Also AC2 along with the add ons is very addictive.

Its a mix between the too, you do get into fight scenes etc, but in saying that you chose what your character does but if you dont for example press the triangle button quick enough it'll have a consequence / different story line / different ending etc, maybe hire this game out haha

Ouitta cash but I really really really wanna play the DLC's haha.

It's amazing how everyone's take on games can differ so much. I personally hate FPS games, can't get into them but the Uncharted series is definately my favorite to date. Since buying uncharted 2 i haven't put it down and that's since it was released. Pushing up in my online ranking now, almost at 58!
Heavy rain sounds good, i'll be looking for another one once my uncharted fetish finishes!

Its COD style fps with OBLIVIONs Depth of story line and it has a new smart engine so you can basically be freeRunning mid skirmish an to kick it all of it has 100% character customisation which is something that i love in any game that offers it
