Out of those links, I'd go the V9. BUT, get the V9 Black Editions, its $40 dearer, but it has an extra side fan (and pisses off that ugly clear window). Thats the case i'm getting.

Keep in mind its a mid tower, some of the other links are full towers!
As above, don't buy on ebay. If MSY don't stock it, theres others that do. Centrecom sell the V9 Black for $160.

Well they are what they say, mid tower, and full tower. Obviously full is alot bigger. Meaning more room. I dont think you'd need anything more than a mid tower tho (and depending on where your putting it, a full tower might not fit/take up too much space)

Get the CM Stacker case im sure there are several models of it but im a I.T Technician myself and the benefit of the CM Stacker is that it has individual HDD cooling blocks that cool the HDDs down, also for a CPU go for the 1366 pin Core i7 960 CPU nothing will beat it then. for around $2500 you will get a sick as computer with windows 7 ultimate.

  13. Default

    graphics card: ati 5870
cpu: i7 920 (960 is good, but costs twice as much as the 920, and the 920 can be overclocked to the 960s speed of 3.2ghz on the stock cooler anyway (and over 4ghz with a good cooler) so there's not much point spending twice as much for a 960)
psu: corsair hx 750/850 (you want a good modular power supply)
    motherboard: asus p6t deluxe
ram: corsair or OCZ is good. either way make sure you get the lowest latency you can find and at least 1600mhz stable if you want to overclock.
case: i like the v9 personally, but it really doesn't matter too much

and as said above, don't buy off ebay. strangely enough it is more expensive for computer parts. msy/centrecom/cpl/pc case gear etc

with an i7 you dont need to overclock mate, as its fast enough as it is, i have a i7 985 and it flys mate, but if you want ultimate gaming computer you are best off going 4x 285 gtx sli, but you will have to go a better power supply than 850, i have a 1200 watt gigabyte and it runs 2x 295 gtx cards, and they are the most power thirsty cards out, ram wise i would go higher than 1600, i would go pref 2100
Vs eco 3.8, extractors, 2.75" exhaust, roller rockers, cammed, bored out 20, t5 manual, rolling on king springs all way round with monroe gt shocks all way round, every door has a ding but looks can be very deceaving

dude WTF. there is no such thing as an i7 985. and 4x 285 sli? what have you been smoking? a single 5870/gtx 295 runs nearly every game at playable speeds at 1920x1080, anything more is just a waste of money and pure 'wank factor'. and ram speed/frequency doesn't even matter unless you are overclocking so 2100 is another waste of money.

haha, ive got my eye on the i7 920 which should do the job nicely..

what u think about the asus rampage II gene? im just about to put an order in (link above)

    any feedback is greatly appreciated

  19. Default

rampage or p6t, they are both good boards, i heard rampage is better for overclocking but can't verify that for sure. but yeah should be good

and yeah 920 is the best way to go. if you're happy with the performance you can leave it. if you want more then you can almost double the speed if you overclock it

i have to admit that im pretty impressed with gigabytes 2oz copper mobo's. i got one for lga775 in my movies pooter and cos' its in a media case and in my entertainment unit (no ventillation), it used to overheat really badly. that 2ox copper board stopped over heating completely. same box, same cooler, same case fans.

personally stay away from mobo's with a lot of bells and whistles cos' they are just other things that you can stuff up. also, from my experience, asus customer support SUCKS. i have always bought asus, so its somethingi dont really mind.

and with overclocking, if you havnt played around with clock speeds on older cpu's (478, 775 etc) i wouldnt start now. just get the i7 with nice matched ram and a 865 gfx and your sweet.

p.s. if that case comes with a PSU, throw it in the bin and fork out the 200 bucks for a decent one. especially if your gonna play with sli and cpu/ram voltages. a dud psu causes all sorts of really stupid problems that take ages to diagnose cos its the last thing you think about.

    oh yeah, RAID 0 wins!!!

mate keep in mind your graphics card plans for it, if your planning to crossfire/sli you will be wanting to buy a motherboard that supports this feature with that provides 2x PCI-E 2.0 16x lanes in order for your graphics cards to work at full potential, if not, just spend a bit more on a card ie. a reputable 5870, and get a motherboard with one PCI-E 2.0 16x lane.

also dont skimp out on your powersupply, if you were to get a 5870, i would not be getting any lower than a brand name 750 watt psu (corsair, antec etc), i recommend a 1100w Warlock Apevia, that i got from a local store ITESTATE, im pretty sure they ship and Apevia are a reputable company, only thing is i dont think they are modular, but if you have a big enough case cable management isnt an issue.

let me know if you need any more help mate!

My vote goes for a Gigabyte MB too, I had an asus, shifted to gigabyte when the asus died, and the Gigabyte runs cooler by a couple of degrees, just remember that if you want to run the GTX get an SLI board or if your going to run the 5870 (or even better the 5970 for Stupid powerful GFX) get a Crossfire board... But I must insist on an SSD for a boot drive when running windows 7, boot time is soooooo much faster and programs load bucket loads faster too
