Hey
I've got a HP 2133 net-book.
The CPU is almost always on 100% and the bottom is always hot, sometimes too hot to sit on bare skin.
I've had this for a while now and questioned the company owner about it and i was told that most net-books do this but now that a lot of my mates are getting these small POS computers for net browsing i've noticed that none of theirs do this...
Is this right for my computer to do this???
Cheers
nope.... Never do they run that hot.

Maybe you have too many processes running at one time? clean up the computer and get rid of any programs you dont use/make sure programs you dont use arent opening on start up...
the hardware you have may take up more room inside the case and therefore cannot vent aswell...
My gf and I both have toshiba satellites, mine with more ram, faster cpu, bigger HD than hers... both the same size computer but mine runs a hell of a lot hotter than hers.. just as an example
^lol and 90% likely to self destruct.

hahaha yeah its stupid, most OEM retailers, realise like Vista was/is fail with laptops, we bought a top of the line XPS Dell laptop a year ago, it used to run like a VL, but when Windows 7 was launched they send us a free upgrade, now the laptop is never hot, and I never get burnt from it.
moral of the story is, get xp or windows 7 on there quick smart or even linux :O
look at task manager and see what process is using the CPU
50LTRv8
its on vista, it might be the bit about the small casing,, it has an aluminium shell on it.. it has a vista basic sticker on it but when i got it it had vista premium and the key on it...
barely anything opens on startup...
If i upgrade to 7 do i have to do a format and re-install or is there like an upgrade package???
I just CBF re-installing all my programs and copying all my shit and all my settings over to 7 from vista
its definately vista trust me, personally id do a clean install, as if the laptops a new one, most OEM retailers load a hunk load of gay software shit on them, thats part of the reason, but you can do a upgrade-install, being a netbook does it have a CD/DVD drive? if not your gonna have to get a copy of win7 on a bootable USB and go from there.
ive got a hp dv7 lappy with win 7 on it...and i seem to find it runs at 100% aswell most of the time...found out that its firefox that causes it if i have about 7-12 tabs open it starts to fire up and yeh it burns your hands how hot it gets haha.. hopefully the battery dont explode![]()
If you want, you can buy an upgrade online, and just download windows7 straight from microsoft windows.
Windows 7: Get ready to buy Windows 7 for your own PC or a new one
Just means you will need to create a recovery disk, easy enough done..
Also, if unsure about how windows7 will work on you system, you can download the windows7 upgrade adviser from windows, it will scan your system and give you a report.
