Just about to buy a Mac

Meh, was something like $600 for AppleCare on my 17" MBP - it would have expired end of this year and all I've had wrong is a fan I replaced for about $30. Would you insure a $3,000 car for 20% of it's value?

Also owned plenty of Macs in my lifetime, never had serious issues beyond the standard stuff like hard drives dying.
