You will get **** all for it. Peopple have been telling me over on the Xbox forums theyve been getting about 100-200 bucks for the console + a bit extra for the hdd. Your best bet is to sell it on Ebay before the adds for the new Xbox go out on TV. Catch some unaware people.
You wont get **** all trading it in because even the retailers now are trying to move the consoles for dirt cheap. Best bet is either a) trying to return it for store credit b) trying to really talk your way into a really good trade in value or as I said ebay it.
Personally... if i had the receipt and was feeling confident I would make it RROD, take it back to the place you got it and say you want to replace it because youve only had it for a month, then tell them oh but i heard they have a new one comming out next month, can i just have store credit and get a newer model to avoid any problems. However this is dodgy as **** and you may just end up with nothing.
A new Hot Pursuit game will be fun. They lost a lot of support when they wanted to go to race track only games, because they didnt want to support illegal activities like running from the cops. its the only thing that made NFS any fun.
Shift was a decent game though. It had a shit drift mode, but when you're playing it with a decent wheel and pedals, its a lot of fun.

Xbox 360 S 250GB Console - Xbox 360 - EB Games Australia
new xbox will be $449, that's quite a bit.
Its the same price as the current Elite's RRP. Still not that expensive when you start to add it up. When you look at the Wii you get **** all for your initial outlay, when you start to buy the things you need (nunchuck and what not) the price adds up to the cost of an Xbox 360... and if you want to spend like what is it 100 bucks more now...a PS3.
Mind you thats Eb Games, the most expensive gaming retailer you can find. Wait till JB Hi Fi gets their hands on it. I know I will be going there come tax time and buying a new TV and new Xbox, see if I can get some $$ knocked off.
The price of the Elites (im talking 2 months ago) was 400-450 (currently ive seen them down to 200 brand new because theyre trying to make back any money off them) depending where you went and you got 2 shitty games.
I think the price is good, when I first saw it I thought it was going to be in the 500+ mark.
Wait 6 months when the "rush" to get the new console has died down. MS are gonna make a shit ton of money of people rushing out to get it, 6 months they'll start releasing the packages. MS's big name exclusives start to come out end of the year, Halo, Fable, GoW, so expect to see some packages around October.
End of the day, Australia suffers big time from markups. Our exchange rate doesnt justify the 150-200 dollar mark up from the price of the console in the states.
