Well Ive just finished watching the Microsoft presentation and this year is going to be one hell of a year for gamers who bat for the 360 (and looking at the Nintendo conference new Zelda is gonna pwn but thats coming tomorrow.

Brief rundown of what Microsoft has announced, obviously more details will come as the week progresses.

New Xbox 360. Slimmer, quieter, bigger hard drive and not to mention it looks beautiful with WiFi built in and fully natal ready (if you give 2 shits about natal).

Natal has been announced and finally named. Kinect or some rubbish. Meh couldn't give a shit. If you do...it comes out in November, so yay I guess.

Lucas Arts is making a Star Wars game for the Kinect rubbish where you can pretend youve got a Lightsaber, im ashamed to say it actually looks like a bit of fun when you do all the Jedi mind control things and what not.

Halo Reach revealed, looks spectacular. Looks like it has a lot of new combat mechanics, charachters and we were shown a cool new vehicle battle.

Gears of War 3 revealed. Honestly, after Epic Games took a massive ****ing dump on every single gamer outside of the US with GoW2 and practically said "Suck it up who cares if you have lag, the US is fine" I wont be buying GoW3 no matter how good it is...but it looks really good

Fable 3, I know a lot of people whinged about the second one, but I love Fable and was practically the reason I got an Xbox, it looks fantastic with a new era. HAIL MOLYNEUX.

Call of Duty: Black Ops, Treyarch have really outdone themselves - and Infinity Ward. Graphics look insane, the missions we saw look fun and brand new and we saw a Helicopter flight battle. All in all it looks like a must buy. Plus, take this Sony bitches - Xbox gets the DLC first

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. A continuation of the last game, with Ezio raping face. Game looks like its going to include multiplayer and you will interact and do missions with other Assassins. EPIC.

Metal Gear Solid was shown, never really played MGS, looks interesting.

They announced a brand new exclusive franchise from Cyrtek or something a rather, so far its just called "Codename: Kingdoms" but itll probably be looked at more later in the week.

Think thats about it from Microsoft, Nintendos press conference is tomorrow morning at 2 am, so Ill let you know how that train wreck goes, that is if I can sit through it, the only thing im waiting for is Zelda and the rumors about a platformer Donkey Kong.

Yeah rumors are that Nintendo are finally revealing the new Zelda which has been in the works since 2004 or 5.

I couldnt give a flying **** about Natal/Kinect, its just a feeble attempt to lure the casual gamers from the Wii. Although like I said, the Star Wars game looks awesome. They showed a small bit where your fighting heaps of Stormtroopers and you can fling them across the room with your hands and fight them while using your actual hands. I rekon that would be sweet to do the Darth Vader choke - just dont do it near a window or you will look like a tool.

The new Xbox looks stunning. Although IMO 3 years late Theyre finally releasing the stuff they shouldve had when they released years ago - wi fi and a decent ventilation system. But yeah mine has been on the verge of breaking (lasted 3/4 years now - original first batch model ) and was going to buy an elite come Tax time, so ill be buying this one. The new Xbox ships next week - we are getting it in July at the same price as the current Elite.

yeah i brought my elite when my first batch one showed the rings but sadly i'm still using the old 20gb hard drive instead of the 150gb elite one,.
sony already tried to steal nintendo's motion tech so it was only a matter of time before Microsoft had a go to.
more importantly tell me more of this new zelda please tell me they aren't going to stick with those cell shading graphics?

Im not to sure on the details yet. From what I can tell its going to be set prior to OoT and you discover the origins of the Master Sword and it will be similar to the graphics of TP.

I am amazed its been kept a secret. For it to be able to be shipped this week, it means theyve been in production for months now. But yeah I still cant believe how good it looks. Looks like a really sleek PC tower almost.

im looking forward to seeing what the new legend of zelda is and i say its about time the 360 got built in wi-fi (i dont own one) as the ps3 has had it since its release in 2006 (2007 for australia) but i noticed that nfs are going back to there roots with a new Hot Pursuit game

Ok time for NINTENDO.

Quick rundown on what was announced. They definitely had a lot to live up to, they had so many rumors flying about and after their horrible last 2 years at E3 everyone expected a big one.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, retarded name, but nonetheless a new zelda game. Using the same graphics from Twilight Princess this game has been in the works since before Twilight Princess even finished so it has had a lot of work put into it. The lead designer demonstrated it using that gimmicky wii motion nonsense.

That wasnt all for Zelda fans, Nintendo announced that the new Nintendo handheld device, the 3DS, will get a OoT remake also Star Fox: Lylat Wars will be getting the 3DS treatment.

Whenever you think of N64 you think of a few games, Goldeneye is one, and Goldeneye is back. But what looks to be a shell of its former self...and theyve replaced Brosnan with Craig.

Donkey Kong Country, FINALLY theyve released a proper platformer Donkey Kong. Finally, poor DK has been promoted from casual gamer hell to his former self. Classic 2D (2.5d?) Donkey Kong. Ill be picking this up.

New Metroid, wasnt the biggest fan of Metroid, but nontheless new Metroid for the Wii.

They also showed off a few games for the DS and their new 3dS handheld. Nothing to exciting to be honest, Golden Sun and Kid Icarus are going to handheld, wouldve been a much bigger announcement if it was on console.

Then they showed off a slew of casual games, some Mickey Mouse rubbish, im not going to talk about them because they are a stain on the gaming industry and Nintendo should be shot for ever releasing them upon the world.

Over all, not a blockbuster like i was hoping for. I mean new Zelda and Donkey Kong but the rest was kinda so so. I am frankly getting bored with Nintendo, between the casual games that make me want to punch a kitten and a new handheld every year, they're starting to piss me off.

With that new Xbox, does anyone know the new specs concerning gpu etc. speeds? Or is it mainly aesthetic.

It will all be the same hardware. Its mostly new visuals, new power supply, new ventilation and cooling system, new harddrive system (from what I can see its an actual hard drive now not the MS junk), inbuilt Wifi and it comes natal read (the old Xbox will require a addon.)

Natal looks interesting, I have seed a vid of someone driving a car with no wheel, my question is, wouldn't your arms get sore? The kung fu would be nice, imagine street fighter but you are Ryu or Ken. I think the success of natal will depend on how it is used and the quality of the games, if it is just a gimmick then it will be a flop

I loved GOW 2, but have only ever played it in storymode.

Sony are stupid for not giving it to them. The market for Blueray movies would double, but if you want PS3 games you would still need a PS3, they are missing out on money through sales.

Surely they could make a drive that could read both (like CD/DVD) . Once the war was one, blueray should have become the standard. The new xbox could have been so much more, but for those with older working 360's, whats the point?. The point I am trying to make with this is that I chose my console based on the gaming platform, not the fact that it had blueray or not, but if it did have blueray, I would then have the opportunity to view blueray discs, which would then put money in sony's pocket. As it stands fans of 360's will simply get a cheaper blueray player while the gamers just get both.

Another thing that annoys me is the Wii not playing DVD's, and I can't even buy software to install to play then either

Meh Bluray means squat to me. When the PS3 came out Bluray was such a rarity it didnt even pop into most peoples minds and now Bluray players are dead cheap.

Its like Sony now developing 3D and everyone is going nuts about it. I couldnt give a shit, why? Everyone has just upgraded their tvs to LCD/Plasma. Why are they now going to go out and buy a 5000 dollar 3D tv?

I want my console to play games, not be a glorified movie player.
