what are normally some providers that dont charge excess usage that provide the highest possible adsl for about $40-$50

I just connected to Internode (arguably the best ISP in Australia) Easy Broadband, bundled with NodeLine ($29.95) for $49.95 a month incl. 50Gb data allowance, shaped.

I sync at 24,538kbps but that's because I'm on a rim and it's literally across the street.

I download anywhere from 1 - 2 MB/sec.

Yeah internode are good, those prices are suprisingly cheap for them though. I guess i haven't looked for a long time. If you are wanting to save money, go with a provider that hires lines, though don't expect very good customer service...
