    Novice here. lost big time.
    TOSHIBA SATELLITE L500/00X
    DVD player modules missing.
    tried this.

    OK, I have worked in IT for 11 years (except when I was in the Air Force) and I don't understand what you're on about (admittedly I haven't clicked your links). What's the problem you're having?

    Sorry mate the dvd player not working anymore I can still use it but auto play doesn`t work.
    So I have uninstall and tried the download still no good.
    I can`t find the install on the computer user/tempfile/?????????

    only works when i click on the disk file it will open it in media player but not in TOSHIBA DVD player which I have now uninstalled.
    Have download programme from link.
    Support :: Toshiba
    But can`t see where to install it.

    lol...surely its not that hard to click my computer and then click the disk to play etc....
