Default Can a digital photo frame be used as a monitor?

The heading says it all. Can I hook the laptop, with the dead screen, to a digital photo frame to act as the monitor?

No, no HDMI, but it has 2 USB ports, an SD/MMC/MS slot and a CF slot. The CF slot has me intrigued - it's about 30mm x 4mm, with what looks like about 60 pin connection. Any ideas what that is?

The CF slot is a Compact Flash slot, it takes a lead that connects a flash memory device like a camera or drive type video camera. It also takes a card that has the same connector built in.

Would that slot accommodate a cable from a laptop to enable it to operate as a monitor? Does such a cable exist? (ie RGB/CF for example. The laptop has no HDMI port, only the RGB and USB's.

Thank you for your advice. Glad you got a laugh out of it.

At least I don't try to convince everybody that I know everything.

If it is a Samsung photo frame, I think it will work via the USB cable. If not, then I don't know.

Yeah, I realise that's an option but the TV is not convenient to use as the house computer. The one I'm using as I type this is my son's and he will be taking it with him in a few weeks. I'm then either going to have to get a screen for my ASUS laptop, or buy a new computer. I'm reluctant to waste money on a new screen because I don't trust the ASUS to last, and was just asking about the digital photo frame because it's a large one and doesn't get used at all.

Thanks Fuzzy but the frame doesn't have an HDMI port. I have an RGB to RGB cable, so I'll try to hook it up to the tv to see what happens.

24 x 18 cm. Small, I admit, but it would only be to see how well the laptop works. It's too small to use as a permanent screen.

Neither do I. That would be un-necessarily arrogant, rude and also wrong as there's not a single person on the planet that knows everything.
I simply laughed as I thought the question was funny, and everyone I know laughs when they think something is funny. And then I answered it as simply as I could based on my technical knowledge.

I've never claimed that at all. Never have and certainy never would. Besides, there is a lot of stuff on Wikipedia that's wrong.

Nope. Not at all. And trust me, I'm the most likely person to know exactly what's going on in my own mind.

Well, at least you can have a joke at yourself - I can't criticise you for that. But the post wasn't meant to be funny and it appears you're alone in finding it so. But the arrogance? Well, you probably can't help yourself, but it just oozes out of you. Every post.

And no doubt, you are not at all concerned.

I think its safe to assume thats why 'Wikipedia' was mentioned and not somewhere else, where the contents are 100% truthful.

Hope you don't mind, I edited your post to delete all the irrelevant text I didn't want to quote.
