gran turismo is the best driving simulator out i reckon.

I've been hanging for this ever since it was first penned about 83 years ago (well, it seems that long anyway). Also keen for LittleBigPlanet 2, Guitar Hero 6 and DJ Hero 2.

Should hopefully be out around Christmas or soon after.

Until they get a realistic physics engine to run it in, GT5 is noting more than pretty moving car pictures. It's far from a "simulation".

That's because real simulation games don't sell anywhere near as well; the vast majority of players aren't talented enough to get far into the game. I thought GTR2 was a simulator whe I first played it, then I found real simulators and thought 'wow GTR2 was shit' lol

Shame you probably won't be able to enter the draw to pick up that sweet Merc. Looks like a good game nonetheless and about damn time we get decent crash realism. Shame there's going to be 2 types of cars but. Premium and standard where the standard gets low detail and minimal crash effects and premium gets high detail and full crash realism.

“Brand New, Real Time” Damage Coming to Gran Turismo 5

That's only talking about the appearance Troy. Which is a far cry from the physical effects of real damage as per other far better racing simulators. Different components in cars when damaged cause different problems for the driver. So while it LOOKS damaged (because Gran Tourismo has always been about how pretty it can be first and formost) that damage doesn't translate into a realistic driving experience that is BASED on that damage.

According to all reports it while be like that though. As in damage so realistic panels can be ripped off etc.

yes i agree. im sure some will agree if they have played it that "live for speed" the PC game is the closest to the real thing iv played anyway.

Well that's gay.. I thought it was getting the ability to damage the engine/driveline and so forth
