Question ASUS problem, I need some assistance please?

Hi all, I have a weird problem with an ASUS P5Q-E motherboard that has me baffled. It will not save my personal settings in BIOS after being shut down and unplugged from the power point. Next time I try to boot up, it comes up onscreen to press F1 to recover BIOS settings or press F2 to load optimal BIOS settings. I have to press F1 as I have a RAID 0 (Stripe) Array set up with Windows 7 Pro. My BIOS settings are simply the DRAM Speed (1066), Timings, and Voltage (2.20V) and boot sequence,
everything else stays pretty much standard BIOS settings, I do not overclock my systems at all either.

    Thanks in Advance, Rossco

As above, there will be a little silver disk looking think on the MB, it should just spring out, whack a new one in and you should be fine. how old is the MB?

I have replaced the battery with a new one already. I measured the voltage of the new one before installing it and it was sitting nicely at 3.38Volts. The one that was in there was reading 3.0V. so I have doubts as to weather it is the battery somehow, but hey I could be wrong. I do have another brand new battery here, so I will try replacing it again and get back to you all..
the Motherboard is about 18 months old I guess

So Ok I have installed the new CMOS battery on the MoBo. It didn't make a scrap of difference. It still loses my settings when the power is turned off at the power point. I still saves my settings in OC Profile but you still have to enter BIOS to access this. The strange thing is this thing will keep the settings as long as the power is on to the MoBo even if the computer is not running, but as soon as the power is switched off it loses my settings, Not the system time or system date, just my settings. It is totally weird!!

I have finally found the problem with this MoBo. I reloaded the BIOS with an earlier version and now it keeps all my settings; even after being turned off at the wall overnight. The board has ASUS Express Gate as a feature and when installed with the latest update, it fails to work. I have disabled it in BIOS and now it all works fine. Thanks for all those who tried to assist me with this problem. Much appreciated.
