Hey Grennan

You need to open some ports on the firewall, see step 4
Error: Your console is connected to the Internet but can't contact Xbox LIVE
Ok, Ive just set up my xbox and PC finally so I can get back onto xbox live.
I am using Internet Connection Sharing to access Xbox live and whenever I have a firewall active, I cannot access Xbox live. However Disabling it, it works fine. Even when using the standard Windows Firewall.
Ive set it up in the past somehow, For the life of me I just cant remember how.
Help plx. Want to shoot people.

Yeah I opened:
TCP 80
UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074
UDP 53
TCP 53
Infact Ive got an option on my firewall that allows me to unblock all of them which didnt seem to work.
However I have just checked something to do with IGMP and it seems to have worked. However Im somewhat afraid I may as well not have a firewall up.
do you have a virus protector that has its own firewall?

Yeah I sorted it out. I had a AV that has its own Firewall. However manually opening the ports on it didnt work. Disabled the firewall and enabled Windows Firewall and opened the ports on that and it worked just fine. Now i have a totally new issue and a new problem:
LAN only working after a PC restart
you only need one firewall running, so your saying you stopped the av one and left the windows one going?

I had the windows one disabled and the AV one enabled. Disabled the AV one enabled the Windows one, opened the ports on the Windows firewall (which didnt work on the other one) and it worked.
