    Default C10 Splitter (C10100E)

    Hi guys,

So my house is nearing completion and starting to plan my Broadband.
I've been a long time iinet user and never had problems.

So.. the question I have is:
Will a Central Splitter be worth getting & Installed?
I've never had one previously, only had the inline splitters.
I'm looking at the C10100E. Anyone know where I can get one and who can install it in Perth? for reasonably cheap?
I'll be running Cat6 cables throughout.

Also, can anyone recommend me a VOIP router? I don't want to go wireless.

EIW in Wangara sell them for $25.95 + GST.

Ross recommends Nighthawk Cabling on 0408102028 - I'll give them a call and find out how much they charge.

Yes this is very much reccomended, i recently used one when my parents upgraded to ADSL2+ and all i got as was feedback from the phones, and using the phones was even worse, constant drop outs. With the central, all that went away and my speed increased by 4Mbit.

Using line filters can cause strain on the lines, if you look at you phones, most of them probably have a REM of 1. Because using phones use line power and the filters will cause that little strain, you don want to exceed a total REM of 4.

Also with your VOIP router and not wanting to go wireless, are you referring to your network or phones not being wireless.
What are you running the Cat6 cables for, ive heard of people doing this but not for their networks, for their phones :| so can i ask how that works lol.

    Hey,
So we pick up our keys tomorow morning.
Just need some help setting up the internet.
We've had Telstra come out and run the cable from the street to the side of our house into their Telstra box. We don't have phone lines in the house yet. So we will need to run phone line from outside to inside.
I'm going to get one of those C10 splitters and I want to put the Router in the roof were the line comes in.
I've never set up a internet connection....
So from the telstra box... it connects to the central splitter and then from the central splitter what cable is used to connect to the router?
Edit: Is it a cat6 cable straight from the telstra box?
Edit: I've got a Billion 7800n. I'm looking for maximum speeds.. and we won't own phones.

So from the Telstra box I use a Cat6e cable to the Central Splitter and then use another Cat6e cable to connect to the Router? and from the Router the rest of the crap?
