Ok for those who know more than me i need some help.
I found it easy on xp to enable user to make changes over network but win 7 i cant.
Basically i have a media pc and my normal pc.
I want to be able to rename my media files move new media files onto my media pc from my other pc.
Everytime i get you dont have permission to do this.
Now im fairly sure i have shared the hdd and set the permission to allow everything but it still doesnt work
Any help be great Cheers Pub

XP was much straight forward. First off the drive needs to be shared which by the sounds of it you have done. Right click on the drive and click sharing, then advanced sharing, then permissions. Add the user you have mapped the drive with on your HTPC with full control of the drive
just remote Desktop it....

Some reason it has started working from permissions alone. I had done it like you said johnboy but maybe i just needed a restart for it to work who knows i dont care it works now![]()
