Have you connected the wifi modem with your internet provider?
Yep, it's not the modem connecting to the ISP it's my laptop connecting to my modem

You need the pin number that you get with the modem to be able to connect the laptop to the wifi modem
Has it always happened or just recently started doing it?
I would clear out all the WiFi settings and start a new connection.

Try:
- Go to Network and Sharing Centre, then on the sidebar, go to Manage Wireless Networks. Delete all of them. This will removed any saved settings and profiles assosiated with networks. It will mean you need to reenter any saved passwords for networks, but it will also clear out any dodgy settings.
- Following that, your TCP/IP stack might be dodgy. Go to the start menu, and type in "cmd". Right click on " Command Prompt" that appears in the search area, and "Run as Administrator".
- From command promt, run "ipconfig /release"
- then run "ipconfig /flushdns"
- then run "netsh interface ipv4 delete arpcache"
- then run "ipconfig /renew" then wait, this might take a while...
- then run "ipconfig /registerdns"
- These are just like a general catch-all for network failures. If any of these steps fail, it indicates there is a full on PROBLEM in your network. If they succeed, but the issue persists, then by joe, you better do some serious looking.
Most likely, these will fail. I'm pegging this as a encyption mismatch. Connections with WPA tend to connect and then disconnect when the password is wrong, or rather, when the password is being SENT wrong. Clearing your wireless profiles might sort this out, failing that, try updating the firmware on your router and the drivers on your PC wireless card.
Good luck!
