    Default Mortal Kombat 9 Online

Anyone been playing this online with PS3? I started online 2 days ago and basically the online component of this game is terrible, BUT if someone from Australia or New Zealand connects, it plays perfectly and its bloody fun playing against a human for once.
I have given up trying to fight people from the US, UK or anywhere else because it just won't connect.
Its a shame not many people in Australia have MK9 because we need more Aussies online so that we can actually connect.
I don't know what the deal is with Xbox, is the connection problem for you guys the same?

i get the same when i play call of duty online, if i connect to a server or a host that is in australia or nz then all is good, but it's when i connect to a uk, european or united states server that it realy sucks. get laging like there is no tomorrow, it's quite bad.

the fact we are all the way down here doesnt help us either. which realy does blow.

I get that with Gran turismo 5 if I play with overseas people the lag is ridiculous and they kick me, or if I host a room and an overseas player comes in and it causes lag as well so I usually have to kick them because their car starts acting erratically GT5 is a p2p game, our internet is slow compared to theirs and we are usually 300-500 ms latency once the data crosses the sea and comes back. it comes from congestion on the shoddy copper network and at the exchanges which cannot keep up with demand and by the time it comes back there is too much lag to play with other countries. NBN will be good for gamers if they lay more undersea fibre optic.
