    Default Android Apps

I thought this might be something good for fellow android users. most of us have apps, but if your like me searching can be a pain to find something your interested in. most of the time i spot apps from others. thought this might be a good thread for others to come in and share their android apps with others widgets free paid version and your thoughts on the app. spotted this on the ford forum.

    Samsung Galaxy sII.

    Angry Birds. Addictive game. (free)
Visidon applock. good security app that allows you to set facial recognition for app access. (Free Version And paid plus version $2.75)
JC Forum. For many reasons . ($2.50)
Drag Racing. Race the 1/2 1/4 miles very addictive game with a large car list. (Free)
Air attack HD. Played this game when i was younger still a bit of fun. (Part 1 Free. HD $2.79)

    Have the Galaxy also.

Some of the apps I have/had are (all free vers):

Where's my droid - locate your phone when switched off or lost

Police Stream - listen to emergency services, get's boring after a while

Flashlight - good for dark places

    Bubble - spirit level

    Dropbox - pic uploader

Titianium backup - for when I root my phone etc.

Shazam - captures a few seconds of a tune and identifies song/artist

Sex position of the day - no need for explanation

Weatherzone - have this as a widget home page

Dr Web light - Anti virus

    AVG - Anti virus

    More good free apps.

3G Watchdog....... Keeps a great eye on your 3g usage and will not count usage when using wifi. Can set to warn at any % you like, plus deactivate 3g usage when near your limit.

Baseball Superstars... Great fun game build your own player play seasons as batter or pitcher manage and play bit of story to play in there also.

JETFIT... One for the gym junkies. If you get this download JETFIT Animation it shows you the exercise.

I just can't stop playing Heavy Gunner 3D, it is the ultimate game for people who want big guns. Here are some screenshots, but of course being law-abiding citizens you will skip right past the download without paying parts right?

Hey guys, sort of a thread hijack, but i'm looking to upgrade my plan when it finishes next month, and i'm seriously considering getting the Samsung Galaxy S 2 over the iPhone 4S.
Is the samsung a decent phone? reviews look quite promising.
    cheers in advance guys

I can tell you in a few short words.

Iphone most incomplete phone on the market. They have more apps than anyone for a very good reason .

Samsung GS2 I have and can't shut up about it. I'm running a custom rom now, and 1500mhz o/c dual core baby. The phone was fast. but now its white hot. Still cool and battery life is pretty much the same. If your worried about battery life Samsung made an official larger battery and cover to fit the phone. Also it connects to other phones via Bluetooth lol. And if your a music freak you can pay $9.95 p/m to use Samsung's music hub. And ice cream sandwich update is around the corner and said to ignite the phone even more.. It's a one way comparison for me sorry, my sister and her 3 kids all have iphones of all models and moan. half have cracked their screens one has replaced their phone twice and was stupid enough to buy one again. Also kogan is selling them for about $500 right now.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Android Phone (White) - Buy your Samsung Galaxy S II Smartphone from Kogan

It seems kogan does not sell the Iphones.

i phones are so common it'd be as shit as owning a commodore.

    oh wait...

TBH there aren't any major difference between android/iphone. the only good points i've heard from iphone user other than "it's better" is that they have iphone compatable head decks. Its funny though, most phones/mp3 devices can be used with an audio jack, but apple created a unique cable, and in turn created a unique set of devices simply to use that cable.

also, copying music from anywhere (not just itunes that has your account) is a plus for androids.

apps i use a fair bit are opera mini (a web browser that compresses everything, great for low reception or just wanting fast, crap free innernet), and i also use the google car app, which is basically 6 big buttons on the screen for ease of use when driving (voice dial, maps, etc)

maybe because they have been popular a lot longer than androids and have had a much bigger fanbase? I don't see how you say the phone is incomplete, name a base feature on an android phone that iphone users must simply just get to enjoy their phone fully?

I stripped my phone of ALL the samsung and google apps, and only reinstalled what i wanted with a custom rom.

EDIT: i just remembered grpabt1 has on his iphone the only thing i'd consider ditching android for, a battery case with extra battery.

I'm sorry if i pushed you in anyway, its not really fair its best to let people make their own minds up. But bloody apple just ticks me off, i truly dont like the way the do business... If you end up hating it please feel free to flame me anytime.

As long as you can find bluetooth your in like Flynn with android. Connected my phone up to a Series 2 SS and had full access of the phone. full voice control and music. But in saying that i do want a little ipod shuffle just for music.

Bluetooth multitasking custom ringtone widgets landscape wallpaper. Jailbreak to access basically what we can do without rooting the phone. Wallpaper and some icons is about the limit for customization for iphones. You can basically redesign your android to your liking. Then custom rom it. and remove (like you) or ad what ever you see fit. And out of all the iphone users in my sisters house only she doesn't moan about hers. The 3gs.

I thought we dispelled this myth already that you can only get music from paid itunes accounts, I load music from my computer onto my iPhone that I aquired in exactly the same way as every other person since the dawn of Napster.

Go down to your local mobile phone shop before deciding to get a Samsung Galaxy 2. I was all keen till I seen how big it is in person. Doesn't sit in the hand very well unless you got big hands. I'm quite happy with my Desire S

Apple: Calling old features new names to lure noobs since the original iPhone.

For example: Facetime, it's video calling, but only between Apple devices. Nice way to make a feature that many phones already have downpact perfectly fine, ruining it and making it your own.

Apple: Limiting consumers since the first iPhone.

For example: iTunes, Apple's synchronizing software. The buggiest, PIECE OF SHIT software I have ever used, every update brings a new issue. Have lost count of the number of times I have had to restore my iPod Touch due to iTunes.

Samsung Galaxy S: Never had an issue. Custom Gingerbread ROM, vibrant screen, love it.

    Enough said.

    Good Android apps:
    GameBoid - Gameboy Advanced Emulator
    GBCoid - Gameboy Colour Emulator
    NinJump - Good game
ConvertPad - Unit converter, converts virtually any units of measurement.
Winamp - Great music app, can get a computer version and can sync wirelessly :O
