Love them or hate them, tablets are here to stay... Thought I'd share what is about to be the "latest and greatest" tablet on the market.
I'm not creating this in order to start a flame war about which tablet's better or why people would even bother owning one. That's all a personal choice. And my personal choice is not for a laptop/netbook as I want to be able to use it just as a tablet (i.e. without the keyboard).
I am creating this thread in order for people to specifically share thoughts on Android as a tablet OS and what sort of apps people would recommend running on Android.
This is the tablet I'm almost certainly going to buy (import due to the gouging from Australian retailers) in the very near future. Now I have an iPhone 4 and am a fan of it as a phone. When it comes to a tablet though, I want more control and ability to customize - hence going for Android.
So on that note, I leave you with a few links:
First look from Ritchie' s Room.....
Discuss... Because the more input I have from people on these, the more I can really assess what it's going to be like to own one.
Cheers!

One feature that is missing that i was hoping for in this release was the ability to have 3G built into the device. Would have made it stand out even more.
We had the previous model here at work, and man it was nice to use. One really cool feature it had was when connected to the external keyboard/battery pack, it would use the keyboard's battery first, then use the tablets battery. Meaning you can pick up the tablet when you head out the door and you will have a full battery!
Any word on price yet?

Haven't heard any word on Australian pricing but based on the previous model, we can expect to be gouged.
I don't mind that it has no 3G when tethering to my iPhone is so easy and I have plenty of monthly data on that!
One question..wtfg is with the first look videos? Who gives a #### about you opening a package and getting a fat for whats inside, just give me a proper review without the bullshit you wankers.
PS that is to first look video makers.

Centrecom have it pre-order for $799 32gb -$899 64gb. It's very fast and on benchmark testing has been getting great reviews maybe 30-45% faster at times over the fastest phones on the market SGSII and Galaxy Nexus, which are very impressive and fast phones. Tegra3 is very impressive. Although i've read the A5 SGX 543 MP2 in the ipad2 on a test tablet was much faster than the gpu in the Asus prime. Then it went on to say, its final production should be much closer than that if not beating it should be just beaten. So if it could have a slight weakness that might be the only area.

If your willing to wait until next year both Apple and Samsung will release new tablets pads that will knock the socks of the prime. Their going head to head in a battle of screens high resolution more power less battery better game level. And reading up on Samsungs next tablet it wont use tegra3, and at first i thought why its super fast?. Well they claim as a cpu it hardly beats duel core 1.2ghz unit in the Galaxy SII. And where it counts samsungs Exynos is worlds best.

It just seems Apple and Samsung shortly will trump the Prime with some impressive tabelts as they go head to head.

LOL!!! Just LOL!!!!!!!
Of course if you only read dual core kills tegra 3 you lol. But get deep into the tegra 3 and you find its only a ARM Cortex A9 which is current. Its four a9s onto a single chip. And @ 40Nm its older. The ARM Cortex A15 is new. 32Nm 28Nm 20Nm. Dual quad core. Can run from 1500-2500 mhz. This will be the base of The future tegra chips from 2012 onwards.
The Exynos system on Chip is samsungs strong point. These aren't rumours they are fact. and the only problem samsung have is getting them ready in time fast enough next year. What is rumour is the screens on these tablets ipads but the rest is pretty true as its in their road maps.
Included a picture, you can see its better cpu wise well it should because it has 4 A9s on it tegra3. But everywhere else its pretty much beaten in graphics.
