    Default High powerd wireless router

So i have moved into a granny flat at the back
And my wireless connection is low/poor
I can surf the web and do minor things like read forums but noway of streaming a youtube video or downloading anything

I would dare say the tin roof and aluminum saking on the walls would not be helping the connection

I was looking at buying a new high powered wireless router or something to help solve this problem
if i put a external to my laptop it still wont help with the xbox and iphones
Anybody know whats a beast router for ill say under $200
or any other way to solve this problem

    Cheers
    Tommy

I have the same problem with a large house.. router at one end, one of the computers at the other end. You could try going with a wireless N setup, but in the end if you want reliability and speed at an affordable price, the best way to go is lay cable...

Wireless signal boosters ......put a couple around the house and a N series netgear router so you won't have to forward your ports your NAT will be open automatically fir the Xbox or ps3.... Any comp store for under $200

30m cable <$50 4 port network hub <$30 = full bandwidth, security, all devices connected and no dropouts.

2 wireless signal boosters and an N router for under $200? I guess I shop at the wrong shops

    Forget wireless altogether.

Is the granny flat out back on the same power grid as the house? If so you can save having to lay ethernet cable and use an ethernet over power adapter
PB Tech - NETNCMNP285 : NETCOMM HomePlug NP285 Turbo HomePlug Twin Pack over Power adaptor

These work great, and have used them in the past for client setups who don't want to install cable and have had issues with wireless.

The problem with running the cable is there is a new concrete slab the width of the yard
and only way to get a cable through would be to cut into it witch would ruin it
Those power adaptor things look awesome ill defiantly have a look into them

The power into the granny flat is off the same circuit as the computers inside

You should be sweet to go dude.

The website that I found was from NZ (where I am located) but Aussie should have them. TP-Link and Netgear sell them over here.

I was talking to a bloke that owns a computer shop and he put his router is his manhole in the roof. And now he gets full reception everywhere in his house.
Obviously because the signal dosent need to go through walls etc.. Just straight down, Could be worth a shot

I have a wireless dongle (Wireless as in, plug into usb port, get wireless internet) and I bought a 3m usb to usb extension cable and I hang my usb outside as close to the roof as I can and just run the cable through the door to get uber reception lol
