    Default restore windows 7 applications

okay, hard to explain, but i'll try.

somehow my mums boyfriend changed the icons on his desktop to all open on internet explorer.
now, even if you got to open the "system restore" it'll try to open in internet explorer and asks to download an ".Ink" file.
same with opening itunes or any other application.

how would we go about restoring all of the applications back to original?

im honestly not that great with computers OR windows 7 lol so any help is MUCH appreciated!

Not sure if Winshit 7 is the same as Winshit xp, but can you right click on the icon and choose "open with" ?

If so select the correct program you need to open the particular program with and the ensure the box "always use this program".

However if you can't do this under winblows 7 maybe another member can assist.

    Cheers

Probably easier to do a system repair however you will lose all your progams but all your old documents etc. will be put in Windows.OLD

To be honest and I'm not trying to be offensive but it would be probably be better to take it to some one who knows what they are doing. It could really be anything.

Hhhmmm, I did some quick reading and it appears Wraith may be on the money with a repair.

It's one of those things unfortunately. If you aren't sure what your doing you could cause even more problems and might even lose your data. The other thing is once you do the repair you will then need to reinstall drivers and it can get complicated real quick.
