We have been surviving with a 2Gb a month wireless stick for a few years but that limits the possibilities of U tube and other sites with streaming as they suck up the 2Gb in no time.
Now looking at TPG ADSL2+ unlimitted plan and phone bundle ... I heard they use Telstra lines etc so should be a smooth switch from Telstra phone to TPG
Are there any others we should look at ?
wish i never left TPG only one year left tell i can go with tpg again -_-

Im on Optus. I would avoid them like the plague at the moment.
Theyve oversold their cable network. Its been an ongoing issue for over a year now.
It doesnt effect everyone but if youre on a large node like myself, youre up shit creek.
Im on Telstra Cable and i would actually recommend it if you are after a really quick connection. The customer service stinks though but its a small price to pay for a good connection. If you are only using the net to surf the web i would go TPG as they are cheap.

More mods to come
Dodo are the cheapest for unlimited or 3tb adsl2+ and phone bundle but they are slow to connect you at the start and their customer service is very poor. When its all working fine its brilliant though. I have run out of stuff to download lol can manage 300-400gb a month if I try. I liked the wording of the 3tb plan better but others have said it makes no difference. Do lots of research and ring all of them and ask them for a deal.
i download tb's a month so i cant have anything less then unlimited![]()

I'm on tpg also, 200gb for 49 iirc, used to be the same on 3gb wireless for the past 3 years, wasn't interested before in Utube and the like, but now I enjoy watching movies online and whatnot.
Been tpg for 6months now and very happy, we use internode at work and they have been good also, didn't like internodes customer wait times thou when calling. That was the only shit thing before we went with them as a business. Could have been 30mins on the phone before u had the script to go through..
The area in which I live has run out of ADSL Ports so all I get is 7gb of sh*t hole net a month.....Doesn't look good on a PC engineer...lol
It depends what you can get in your area, had internode adsl2 at my old place which was ok, but when I moved recently couldn't move service as the exchange wouldn't allow adsl2 only adsl1 and internode were shit in relaying in the info of what I could get probabably cause they couldn't give a shit since they were bought out by iinet, so now on bigpond cable for the time being which is fast until, new house is built then I can get the nbn![]()
The Mad Dutchman
TPG is very hit and miss... I've had moments where my net would disconnect and reconnect every 30 seconds but lately it has been fine, hasn't disconnected in about 3 months.
Also TPG tech support are lazy, they like to try and blame your modem/phone and try to get you off the line.
About 3 months ago I had a problem where my net wouldn't connect at all, done an isolation test etc but they tried to blame it on my modem (I also tried a different modem and he tried to say both were broken).....
I told him to do a line test and read the results back to me, turned out the frequency was way out on the phone line..... But he kept trying to blame my modem (even though it was disconnected when he done the test) so I told him I used to work for iprimus and that I know the results he told me are not right. Changed his tone in a hurry and agreed with me and then escalated it to level 2..
TPG can be good, their customer and tech support are absolutely dreadful. I live in a rural area, Telstra is the only one to go to, and to be honest I like them a lot. Their customer support lately has been superb. They used to be crap, the last 2 years they have gotten really good, indeed the last 6 months, I've noticed positive changes. if you had problems with Telstra in the past, I suggest giving them a go now, as they are much better.

I was with TPG for about 3 years and for the last 12 months I was getting constant disconnections no matter what time or day it was, we
Have now swapped to Telstra cable an so far it seems like the best thing we did

Had TPG at home for a few years and they have been great. Was with internode for near 10 years and still with them at work - also highly recommended.
