as grennan has said it has already started to catch on.
prime example is BF3.
for online you are given a code when you buy the game.
if you buy it 2nd hand this code cannot be used but its about $20 to get a new code.
Sounds like something apple would think of.
I buy tons of pre-owned games, look before you buy and make sure they have a return policy.
Keeping the wheel rolloing here, Im a PS3 man.
Mainly because Im a Sony man, and PS3 are the only ones that published the Killzone series.
Also Skyrim is awsome.
Sony tried digital distribution only with the pspgo and it was a total flop, I understand where you are coming from as a pc gamer and serial keys's etc but they are personal computers. But allot of console owners don't want Hard drives full of games that they can never physically own and like to take games to peoples houses, swap with mates and trade in and stuff like that, we will see how this pans out as physical sales totally kill digital sales as it stands now and the big 2 know that, it could create a backlash even if both companies do it.
Its going to happen. Its just a matter of when.
Its going to kill retailers so we will see how long it takes to pan out.
Hopefully they just do a digital option, where you can buy a pyshical copy or just a digital license. I always prefer to have the thing in my hand so I hope it doesnt become digital only, but its the way of the future.
Not only that but I love the collectible stuff. Ive got shelves full of Limited Edition stuff etc.
I know i'm a couple of months late, but i bought both consoles to add to my theatre room, and i've only used the PS3 once, to play GT5. It had terrible loading times, and it was so noisy when loading where as the xbox is quiet. Graphics wise i reckon they both look about equal, Forza 4 looks pretty decent though.
I'll probably get the new console when it's released, by it annoys me that they are adding 3D to everything and making you pay for it. 3D doesn't even begin to look good until the screen size is out of line of sight, i.e you gotta turn your head to see. You also need a curved screen to get the most out of it as well. So skimping on graphics cards and offering features which most people won't use just doesn't make sense to me.
