internet cutting out when phone rings?

ey guys

ive had a probelm for agesss now with my internet....now everytime the phone rings the internet will cut out.....then about a few mins in the call it will connect, but then when i hang up it will dissconnect agen....

looks to me that it might be a interference (maybe) im with primus, using my own moden (belkin) rang up primus months ago and they said it has to do with my brand of phone....its a panasonic.....and parents dnt wanna buy another phone again

so any 1 got ideas on what it could be.... or what to do?

Do you have broadband or dialup
If it is broadband, you may want to try a different adsl filter. Or have you got enough filters on every pots device in the house?

Dialup. You can't use the phone and modem at the same time.

its broadband of course ther is filters in the telephone line.... i did switch it to the modem line but didnt change anything so its back on the phone line

Sounds like your filter is kaput...

Filter MUST be on the line to your phone. The line to the modem/router must NOT go through the filter.

Make sure EVERY phone connection has a filter on it. Do you have Foxtel or back-to-base alarm system? Everything needs to be filtered.

If it previously didn't drop out, and you haven't done anything to make it happen, replace your filter with a new one. Do yourself a favour, by a C10 Communications filter... if you go to your local Woolworths/Safeway, then you can pick up a Jackson filter for about $25... they are one of the best out there.

There are known issues with some Panasonic cordless phones, but a good filter should help.

Most common cause of this is a faulty or an improperly fitted filter. Check to make sure that the filter is connected correctly. If you continue to experience problems, replace the filters. Filters MUST be connected to every phone / fax that is connected to the same telephone number that the ADSL is connected too.

Sweet ya got it sorted as i Actually have a similar problem.....I have Telstra broadband but i use an internet phone, and if im downloading stuff off the net my phone wont work properly (i can hear people on the other end but they cant hear me ect) but if im just on the net (not downloading) then it works fine but sometimes (when this happens) i have to restart my whole computer for the phone to work anywayz for the price i save on phone bills i will put up with the hassle
