I need someone smart with computers

Recently Ive got a whole bunch of trojans and all that junk.

Nortans anti virus picked found these

Hacktool.rootkit
trojan.blusod
trojan.killav (couldnt repair, quarantined)


And then Spyware doctor found another trojan what has been removed.

And spybot found some other crap what has been deleted.


Now all my scanners dont find any infections but still when I go on google It redirects every single link i click to a random website, usually porn, fake spyware sites or junky search engines.... And I can no longer get on too many sites..... I have no idea what too do now... I think I might have to get it formated...


Also my wallpaer was changing to a error msg telling me that ive got spyware and too download a spyware removal tool. And I also has windows xp antivirus trying to install everytime I turned my pc on... I cant post pics as imageshack no longer works

all those trojans are anti virus killers shouldnt effect being redirected to other pages? most of the virus scanners dont pick up a whole lot do u download a lot of torrents there usually the real carriers for virus's but many people are unaware they actually have em

i had the the same problem i ended up formatting my computer, when i was using google it wasn't getting through to the website @ all

too many antivirus programs man...is it a norton 360 product or just internet security pack? cos the virus programs pick up each other and fight.

AVG8 free is a good anti virus program. Never have any problems and best of all, it's free.

get rid of the freebie ones...they dont scan for virus, spyware, trojan etc etc, just one or the other...so they stop stuff really good, but let other things in.

u need an updated version if your older version doesnt cover everything.
otherwise a new program, ive never had trouble with trend micro 'pc cillin' and none of my customers mind norton either...hopefully they will get the bugs out.

does norton offer a boot scan option?
if not download avast free edition, run a boot scan. from the sounds of things the virus is stopping itself being deleted so if you run aboot scan it should do the trick, or boot xp up in safe mode then run your antivirus

I cant boot into safe mode, on start up I get a white screen with all different letters and sybols scattered all over the screen... and then it goes to the welcome screen. I think it needs a reformat

sounds like it...if u find someone decent enough the service it they should be able to back it up first then install the new software for you...thats what we do at work for people with serious virus probs

What I would do is get a linux livecd/dvd and boot it off that.. copy all important data onto another hard drive (preferably not originally attached to the computer and maybe if it is removable) try and do windows repair via booting up the windows setup cd, and choose repair mode.

Should the repair mode fail to work, at least you have all the backed up important data on your hard drive (which should not be connected until the computer's main partition/hard drive has been formatted and reinstalled).

I personally would not also use Norton products, they are become more and more resource hungry (otherwise known as bloatware).

it really depends.. what if hes files are infected with the crap? how would u know they havent spread ??? move them to ur hard drive? so it can infect ur other files? Lol
i did this without knowing and now i cant even use that hard drive without my pc/laptop wateva getting sttuffed!

if u dnt really care about the files on ur pc.. low level format is required if u havent ever done it?

Yeh i get all my computer work done for free... thats not a problem... Ill start backing up all my music and pictures and give my computer too my dads mate to reformat.

and norton is actually **** no offence to anyone lol it actually takes up way to much space and over time gets worse and is extremly **** i think someone mentioned trend they are a good type

Norton is ****... Im not going into it, cause its pointless now its clearly to late.

You COULD spend hours/days repairing this virus and getting rid of EVERY SINGLE infected file, but if you dont have the knowledge to do it yourself it would be costly. Im all for fixing a computer over formatting it, but I dont pay for my own time, and frankly dont mind if someone is paying me haha.
A FULL format will be the quickest and most effective solution, and be very careful of what you put back on from that drive.

i got something very similar except i got a screen on my desktop saying warning virus detected in a nice pretty red if any1 wants me to i could upload pics but yeh i cant get to certain sites as well but i get linked to a site wanting me to buy **** my mate cleaned out everything on my pc that is pointless got rid of the hidden files that could be corrupted deleted all my porn to but yeh it cleaned up most of it but i still get a white screen where the desktop used to be its on top of the desktop then being the actual desktop but yeh cant go to certain websites still i want my ebay back!

Yeh my dads mate is a computer technician, he actually built my computer for the cost of parts only! Im not really bothered this is not the first time Ive had to reformat.

It is actually quite easy to clean up. Follow the 4 steps below and your PC Should be clean afterwards!!!.

1. Download the Free version of AVG 8 - AVG Free It will only give you basic protection and will remove any viruses
that are currently on the system. Once you have downloaded it, then run the setup and install it and then run an update
followed by a full system scan. AVG or AVAST can be used, either is fine.

2. Once you have done that, then download the Free version of SuperAntiSpyware - it is one of the most comprehensive
spyware / adware scanners out there. Install it and then run and update followed by a full system scan.

3. Download Spybot - Search & Destory 1.6 and run a full scan. It probably won't find much as the SuperAntiSpyware
should have removed anything that was there, but good to run as well just to be sure.

4. Finally download Windows Cleanup - and run it, It will remove heaps of junk files from your computer,
such as: empties the Recyle bin, Removes Temp files and Temporary Internet Files, Clears History, etc...

Sounds like he hasn't remove all of it. Try running the Rogue_Fix tool on this website. Roguefix - Rogue scanner & Fake warning removal tool

Then download and run SUPERAntiSpyware.com - AntiAdware, AntiSpyware, AntiMalware!

tuneup utilities 2008, reg mechanic ect...
then clean ur temp files and cookies manualy

ps. i wouldnt recommend norton, it slows ur computer down alot with all its running processors, id recommend AVG Free.... its just as effective but uses less processors therefore speeding up the system
