My Address book is hiding

I use Outlook Express for my email and cant find the current address book and have an old file saved from 2004 (very old indeed)

When my PC died last month I kept the old OS on the disk and put a new HDD/MB/CPU/RAM/DVD. put the old HDD ina as a slave.

Now I though I'd be able to find the current address book - but no all 3 *.wab files I have are dated 2004. All the same.

Now the address book is kept in the c:\program files\outlook Express.

But the 4 years of changing my email address book is gone.

Can anyone help?

hmmm... maybe not...

Does:

C:\Documents and Settings\*user name*\application data\"outlook express" exist?

if it does, try copying that from a 3rd party user (create and delete if nessary)

Usually address books are kept in the user profile not the root dir of the app.

IT'll be there... Somewhere...

you could try booting to the old os through safe mod(to allow for driver fails) and exprt the contacts that way too.

Found it ... *user*\application data\Microsoft\address book

Now I searched and seached - (I know the name of the file) - and it would not come up.

That wasted an hour of my life
