saints row 2.....your thoughts???

got my copy of saints row 2 the other day.....cant say im impressed really, to me it looks very unfinished and spaced out abit....

dosent campare to gta 4 at all....gta ****s all over it

only things i like in SR2 is the car modding you can put 20's with whitewalls on pretty much any car lol only thing that keeps me playin that game


well who else has the game??? your thoughts

yeh id say save it lol....got rated 8.2 in aus and 7.5 in the uk... and gta got 10/10 so ther you go

I played it at a friends place and to be honest I found it more fun than GTA 4. GTA 4 is more realistic, but SR2 is more about having fun.

My friend got the limited edition copy which had a bunch of extra's, including a gold bullet that pulls apart to become a USB drive

and you could get stoned lol

It's better than GTA 4 IMO.

Car handling is a bit mediocre, but the whole game is non-stop action, opposed to the constant story driven piece that is GTA. It's far more violent, and the gangs element is far more improved over the first (of which I was not a fan).

The fighting mechanics are better than GTA IMO, and every mission is just as action packed as the last.

I can't see how anyone could not be a fan of it to be honest. It's a game that's designed to be fun, nothing pretentious and doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. It knows it's not a story piece, it just focus' on fun missions and funny side activities.

saints row for the win its a souped of version of san andreas nearly exactly but better ive been playn for 3 days straight i love its fun having the freedom like in san andreas id give it a 10/10 for fun and gameplay and 8/10 for graphics wise

GTA's playability is much better, car handling/graphics etc. The SR2 storyline ****s all over GTA tho.

So, i'd like GTA with SR2 storyline, ability to mod cars, and ability to buy shops etc.

Personally I don't like it. Maybe it's because I believe that the makers are just stealing GTA's market with a lower quality game. The graphics are rubbish, the drive style is like midnight club (really cheap and lazy) and people seem to like it more than GTA IV. They are entitled to but I just don't see how.

I'm more for realism and a good graphics engine.

i got mine the day before it came out and its got the same story line as the first 1 but its ok gta 4 has a better story line but u can get full sleeve tatts lol

If you've actually read up about the first saints row, it was a game that fans of GTA made whilst GTAIV was being made, to pass the time. Being such a huge sucess, they made a 2nd. I don't think there stealing anything, everyone i know who has GTA, also has SR2, so if anything, its making both games stronger.

personal i say buy both of the games, they are both great, SR2 is just great fun to just jump straight into the action. Its a defiant buy from me

Just figured out, with your homies, If you have 3 with you, and jump on a bike or in a 2 seater car, the others will find their own car, and follow wherever you go.

finished SR2 a few days ago now its not a bad game...it is more fun then gta, but id still prefer gta anyday

admittedly i havent had much of a chance to play SR2 for very long yet - but it feels like the developers sat down, played the GTA titles and went "right, so what did we have fun doing there?" and "what sucked and should be taken out?"
it really does feel like a GTA modified for pure enjoyment, none of the annoyances and more quirky missions and activities to just have a laugh with.
i really like the whole police system, its much more forgiving than GTA, you dont get absolutely slammed by the cops for doing fun stuff like chainsawing random people or evading arrest.
the regenerating health is a nice touch, as is the warp to shore - no more do you need to swim forever if you bail out in the water along way from anywhere.
so far id say im enjoying SR2 more than GTA4 right now. GTA4 looked pretty sweet, was very story driven (with phone calls and messages all the time which just ****ed me off if i was in the middle of doing something) and has better physics and vehicle control than SR2 - but for pure enjoyment and more freedom, SR2 is going down much better than GTA4 did for me.

cbf making a new thread for this, bought midnight club 2day, only played mayb half an hours worth.... nothing special, graphics are pretty much the exact same as DUB, which is dissapionting when you look at how good they made the graphics on GTA, and the gameplay doesnt seem that good eitha, give it a crack, mayb once i get some better cars
