    Default Fallout 3

    Anyone else playing this yet?

I got it just the other day, and was very happy that I can play it in widescreen with full detail! I got so immersed in the game that driving up the street to buy a pizza for dinner was spinning me out, and drinking water from the tap in the bathroom made me worried about radiation!

I specced my character for speech, laser guns and unarmed, although I'm thinking of using a console command to change the unarmed spec to repairs or small guns since I don't actually run around beating things up with my bare hands. Being a long time Oblivion player the interface is comfortable and familiar to me, with a few extra bits I didn't expect such as people warning you about stealing or breaking in when they see you looking at things you don't own!

I'm thinking about seeing if there's a difficulty slider though, it feels like it might be getting a little easy now.

lol interesting reading that....i've seen this advertised on the telly...i'm no hardcore gamer, but i give them a lsh every now and then. My biggest curse is, i buy the latest thing out, then i set it up and forget about it for months lol
So is it worth getting or should i play the the first two in the trilogy?

You probally wont be able to play the first 2. The first one was made in like 96 or something and the second one was 99 i believe. As long as you know the basic story you should fine. Im sure it explains the basic event timeline in game anyway.

I haven't played the first two myself, obviously there's a little bit of history and stuff you miss out on, for example I had no idea that Fallout 3 was set 200 years after the great war, etc. But nothing is even gamebreaking in the slightest if you haven't played the first two, and if you didn't know better you wouldn't even know it was a sequel.

I don't play it on a Console, by the way, I use my PC. I would be inclined to borrow someone else's copy and see how much you like it before buying it, since games are way too expensive these days. I never pay more than $50 for a game which means I wait a while before buying them.

I've played about 2 hours of it, then never touched it again. Boring as hell. I like RPG-shooters normally, but shooting someone at point blank range in the head twice apparently still doesn't kill people until you level up.

Looks pretty, and I'm sure it has a great story, but it's bloody boring.

^^^ Yeah i just got the power armour though it says i need some training on it before i can wear it!!

Wicked game this (on PC for me).

only running it at medium graphics cause my GFX card is a tad old but it still runs smooth and look increadible!

I've been playing farcry 2 before this and that got boring... same thing over and over again plus too much traveling around... which gets old after having to cross the same damn bridge for the 10th time and kill the dudes there for the 10th time too!!

I've been playing for a week or so. I wonder did anyone have any problems getting it up and running on the pc?

Only issue i had with running it on PC was changing the resolution... it defaulted to like 800x600 and there is no ingame settings for res.

Had to edit the .ini file instead... running 1440x960 now! :P

You can change the resolution from the Launcher.

But it sounds like you're using the Russian torrented version

I just finished the game a couple of weeks ago with very high karma.

I started a new game (now with a better idea of where to prioritize skills) as I suppose a "Chaotic Good" character, who is happy to murder and steal if it's for the greater good .

I picked this game up a fortnight ago, and finished it on Monday evening. Fantastic game, I must say.
The (main) story wasn't awfully compelling, it had it's ups, but for the most part I was bored and uninterested in 'project purity'.
The characters didn't really seem to have a lot of personality, they were just pre-fabricated generic persona's.
However, the massive (emphasis on massive) environment, graphics and 'FPSRPG' gameplay had me hooked. Very, very interesting concept - it worked out quite well.
The game ended rather abruptly, though. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone, but.. man.. I was expecting at LEAST another 3 - 4 hours of game play. That being said, I really didn't focus on the quests which weren't a part of the main story. Perhaps I'll work on those.

    Overall, great game.

^^^ Agree... I was shattered how it ended... I was hoping for more freeplay considering how HUGE the world is.

    ADVICE FOR ANYONE CURRENTLY PLAYING:

Don't thry to plow though the main storyline... do side missions, explore, have fun... because when you complete the main storyline, thats it... game is finished... no more play...

Yeah I ended up finding all the bobbleheads, the experimental mirv, the t51b armour, and revealing every position on the map, 55 hours of game time later.

Yeah got the blaster too, lol, forgot to mention that. Yeah liberty prime rips it up, at that stage I had like 150 missiles for the missile launcher so I did that whole mission just with that, heheh.

I remember finding alien fuel cells and selling them to the Knight dudes that search for technology...

Didn't know there was an actual alien ship somewhere... plus i still want to find the dog!!!

I heard he is at the scrapyard north of the city with the nuke in it...

Did anyone have problems with Liberty Prime? He kept getting stuck between trees, cars, etc. In fact, there was a point in which we got stuck inside a building!
I had to disable the objects which he got stuck on, then use the 'noclip' feature to get him moving again. Took me a good hour to complete the mission. : \
