ok guys, i have a problem. i went for a walk all was fine came back and my computer had typed a whole lot of random stuff into a msn conversation window ( not pressed enter) i cleared it pressed delete and it came back again, kept trying kept coming back, restarted my computer went to put in my password and it put in the first 3 numbers then doubled the forth then went back to the start and put in the other letters, WTF is happning and how do i fix it?

virus??? run a virus scanner or maybe keyboard stuffed.....

are you running a wireless keyboard? if so, charge the batterys.
if not then as jas said, do a virus scan and spyware scan

Try what the others have said, as that will be the most likely case.
Failing that, disconnect your modem, could be some RDC'ing in just to **** with you. I've done it to people before, its hilarious watching them try and figure whats going on.

Can you get into safemode? Im guessing not, but if you can run a virus scan there.

Try a different Keyboard first of all.

Run the hard drive in another computer as a secondary and scan for virus's if you can. Or put another hard drive in your computer and see if it will work normally, though windows can crack the ****s if you do this.

Has anything been spilt on your keyboard, like a drink? Once liquid gets in, you need to pull it apart and wash and dry the inside.

Other than that, any stuck keys?

i dont know, i try and type the password, ( its all numbers) and if i type 8 it comes up twice instead of once, my deleate either dosent work or makes 3 dots ( dont know that it says becouse im typing into password area

can you get into the bios? If you can't get into the bios i'd say it's your keyboard. can you get hold of another keyboard?

Hardware fault most likely, if your 8 key is typing itself twice. Check the plug pins and the cables, if it's been kinked a ****load then that could cause it. Check the port it plugs into, if its a USB keyboard then try another port. if it's PS2 then check the port and see if somehow a pin has broken off into it.

Take a few keys out and see if there's any spill residue on there from a while ago, or say, a noodle under your delete key and 2 others

EDIT: You can find out what your delete key is typiung by pressing it in the username bar instead of the password bar

hit tab when it said enter bios, comes up windows started unsuccessfully, due to hardware or software change or something like that,

Just try another keyboard lol... There 5 bux if u dont have a spare one.

It can only be 3 things...
The Keyboard it self
The Motherboard
Software related - Either a big ****up, or a virus.

Try the keyboard... Eliminate it atleast.... If another keyboard does the same thing, put the hard drive in another computer, either as a secondary and scan for viruses, or as a master and see if it will get into windows without hassle, if it works then its your Motherboard... If it doesnt then you know its Software related. But at a sign it didnt enter BIOS then Id say its hardware.... Also its normally "Del" to enter BIOS, not TAB, but some Mobo's are different.
