hi guys didnt know where to put it so ill put it here instead.
i think optus b1 or d1 is 160 degrees E and im wondering whats the formula for working out what degrees to set the dish from north.
how do you set the dish up
can yous please give me information on setting up the dish like working out different angles from north or west or east or south
eg how do you work out the angle for the dish if the satellites 156 or 160 degrees E
haha, good ol Shonky has too much faith in JC.
If i remember correctly its 368 degrees from north east when looking from the south east, upsidedown.
Failed year 5 math shonky?
i just havent setup satellite dishes and i just need to know how to workout how many degrees nth each satellite is
How about pay and get a professional to do it for you rather than try and ask us how to leech internet access that you're not paying for? (i assume this is for internet access, since the D1 satellite is used for satellite internet)

Just put in the satellite you want to find, and your address and it'll bring up all the needed information. If you don't have a satellite finder it can be a bloody tedious exercise, make sure your mounting post is perfectly level. The azimuth is your horizontal rotation, so get out a compass an match up the degrees to the pole. But given your lack of knowledge on the topic, I highly doubt you'll be capable of aligning it correctly. You're aiming it at an object about the size of a car that is 32,000km away.
