hey, i got the omnia last week, im liking it so far, but thats only because im only using it to msg and make calls seeing as i dont know how to use anything else!! lol

if anyone else has an omnia, and kno how to get the GPS working (not just google maps) I'd really like to know...

also, ive got 8 songs on it.. and its saying my memory is critically low... whyyyy? the songs arent 1 gig each lol i have them saved into the 'my music' file...

and anyone having any problems with it?

ahh i figured it out... it was saving it to the phone with only has about a gig.. i just had to cut and paste them onto the storage card.. i thought it was part of the phone.. doesnt matter, figured that bit out now haha

I got one of these phones too and loving it . Havnt used the GPS yet but cant wait to. I use it all the time when I go to the gym as I use it like an Ipod. got tons of music on it. . I also been trying to download games for it but cant find any for it yet?? 5 stars to samsung for finally getting it right Though!!!

aw really? im stil waiting for it to really suprise me with something good..

mine already has a tiny scratch on it and i take such good care of it (not on the screen, on the silver bit) and the back doesnt seem to sit right.. hmmm

im hoping i didnt drop it on nye, butttt i cant really remember

its great for music though, like you said, i use it more than i use my ipod now!!

I've had an Omnia for a while now. I quite like it, but unfortunately the flash stopped working on mine. I'm not sure if I can be bothered warranty jobbing it for that though (I never use it anyway).

I got a product called "Invisible Shield" (ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | iPhone, iPod Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield) for my omnia, as well as a silicone rubbery case I got off eBay for 12 bucks.

As for the GPS, you need to use a program called 'port splitter' to get the GPS functionality working under TomTom. Apparently it works straight up under iGo (but I've never used iGo so I'm not sure).

Games - basically anything that runs on Windows Mobile will work. But I'm not really sure on where to find Windows Mobile games.

hey, does anyone know how to disable the function where it shows all your sent and recieved msgs as a conversation?

i want it to just save msg like a normal phone, coz i want to be able to find/keep/delete certain msgs with ease!

its a cool feature, but getting annoying now... any way to turn it off?

Yes, you can switch it off if you want. There's a registry change you can make to fix it, but for noobs there's a program that does the trick. Check out this thread: OmniaTHREAD - Messaging threading mode changer - WinMo @ MoDaCo

i know this is an old thread but i've just bought an omnia too and am having the time of my life getting the gps to work. running port splitter and tomtom 7 and another program called baf gps toggle. picks up sat's fine but the sat's stay gray and it doesn't seem to "lock on" to any. i'll give it another week or so before i install garmin xt and give that a go as i read that it doesn't need 3rd party software to enable the gps chip built in.

did you have the same prob mike?

I havent even tried the gps.. i gave up on it lol

Ive had the phone since christmas and its still pretty much as it came out of the box except for a few songs and that message thing

If you get the gps working let me know? It would be nice to have!

i've given up on tom tom 7 software. i've got a hold of igo8 software now and have yet to get a lock on to sat's. the interface does look better than the tom tom though. i've got it looking for sat's now hopefully get a lock some time soon. from reading other forums on the omnia, it takes ages to get the first lock on. after that though it's a quick lock on after the first inital lock on. shoot me a pm if you want to get a hold on the software.
