Pro's and cons of this new type of processor?

Would a Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz be faster then a Intel Core 2 Q9550 2.83Ghz?

I know that i7 technology right now is expensive as **** but price aside which is better?

Price aside, every review I have seen puts the I7 far ahead of any processor before it.

Cons are you need a new motherboad and ddr3 ram which isn't that expensive but the Intel Core i7 cpu's on their own I would wait a bit for the price to drop down
