Also if you change it to WPA the DS wont be able to connect. DS only supports WEP

Is the modem/router and the computer/reciever both running the same frequency.

802.11a (54 Mbps)
802.11b (11 Mbps)
802.11b+ (22 Mbps)
802.11g (54 Mbps)
802.11g "Super-G" (108Mbps)

Only 802.11a is a different freqency (5.8) as opposed to the rest (2.4). 802.11a is extremely rare in PCs now. Can almost assume it's g (which incorporates fallback for b etc)

Oh ok, I wasnt aware that fallback was on all routers.

lol yes Factory reset is probly your best bet, give it a shot, but maybe check your basic settings or take a screen shot of them first.

Are you 100% positive that WLAN is enabled? and also make sure Hide ESSID is disabled....... don't mean to be a smart ass, but can you take a screen shot? if both of these are set correctly, sounds like a cactus router.
