It took my VTII SS in for a Dyno today.

I have done following mods:

HSV airintake with second hole mod
Monaro 100mm maf pipe
K & N Filter
2 1/2 " dual cat back system
mail order mafless edit tune (thanks to Daniel of chipmaster)

The only drawback with the Dyno was , that they only took the car up to 5000 rpm ("We don't like to take it above" doh) and I could not get a chart just figures for 3500/4000/5000 rpm :b:

194 kw @ 5000 rpm
760 ftlb torque @ 3000 rpm
192 BHP @ 4000 rpm

I guess it would have been 200 kw + @ 5500 rpm

Is is right that a standart gen3 only produces 170 kw at the rear wheel ?

I noticed the change driving the , especial at lower rpms but I would apreciate any comments

Thanks achimw

5000 rpm , the motors just starting to boogie :)

This is what to expect with a manual , the auto will be approx 25kw down due to the extra drivetrain loss.

Glad you are enjoying the extra urge , if you want a proper output find a dyno dynamics dyno shop to give it a honest run.

Do you think its worth spending another $1500.- on the extractors and high flow cats ?
I spent around $1400.- on the mods I got now , would it be a as good or simular result?
I don't mind spending the money if it's worth it, but I am sure I can find other thinks to spent my money on if it's not worth it.
thanks achimw

This is all great
but .....

Worlds Fastest Monaro [email protected]
Project Monaro
452 rwkw real kw backed up by track times
Highest GenIII HP WA HOLDEN/FORD SHOW

You can't have the worlds fastest Monaro because I've seen a street HG Monaro run 9's with a 4 speed manual and 350 chev, seen it with my own eyes, the diff was almost being ripped out of the car on the gear changes, very impressive :)

VZ SS Crewman Auto - MAFless Tune - Dyno

I agree with the extra losses with an auto - mine is down by about that amount on your figures.
Here's my figures just a few days ago.

I just had a "MAFless Tune" done on the VZ SS Crewman and it has both increased power substantially as well as improved the fuel economy. Those aspects are usually mutually exclusive but it seems I have achieved both!

I could have further increased the power by electing to have it tuned for premium (higher octane) petrol but the extra purchase cost per litre is not cost effective. The vehicle is a workhorse after all.

Before the MAFless Tune the only mods had been a larger diameter exhaust (on the final single section) and fitment of a Monaro airbox and K&N Filter.
The dyno figures show power at the rear wheels increased
from 174Kw (238.4 HP) @ 156kph
to 215Kw (294.5 HP) @ 154kph.
Torque has increased from 731FtLb to 819FtLb.
Top speed has gone up from a factory limited approx 175kph to over 215kph.

The difference is amazing. It pulls like a train all the way and the auto shifts are crisper and better spaced. Fuel usage is already demonstrably less (on the highway - which is the only place I've used it since the tune).

Now if I tune it for premium fuel and add extractors and headers . . . .
Hmmmm . .. Then again there's always the supercharger route.
