sorry to give the bad news, but i recomend that you dont use harrop products. the product itsself isent poor quality. but there service is crap. i had a drama with my supercharger i bought for my vx 5.7l worked for boost. and my cars been off the road for months as we go through warranty problems. i fitted the charger last year and after a tune was the fastest thing on the road for about a month when the coolers in the manifold started to leak coolant into my brand new engine, and blew number 8 piston. harrop denies liability. just triing to talk to someone is a strugle as there always at lunch or not availible. finaly we got a responce to say that our coolers have been replaced and thay will send them back after we pay them for the work. but they refuse to send the old coolers! and they refuse to look at my motor that cost me 6000 to fix. so if your thinking harrop, there are other companies that would love to help you in your journie to high performance
good luck with your projects and if anyones had problems with service id love to hear it, cheers pump
so you brought a supercharger installed it yourself and after a month the coolers in the manifold start leaking into the engine........... hows thats harrops problem?
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out
lols at people trying high hp modified stuff and expecting a warranty. I'm sure there is something in the offer and contract of sale limiting consequential damages.

So why did you post this in my area for, I laughed when you said it was the fastest thing out there, to be completly honest, ive lost count of just how many customers ive removed these types of superchargers as they dont make huge horsepower. 430hp isnt much at all, you should be making 700hp from a standard bottom end LS1. And run low 10's with a street car. Everyone gets sucked in to the noise they make, many have never driven a car with decent horsepower before either.
And moved to the correct section.
Shouldnt matter who fitted it. If it was a manufacturing fault in the coolers they should accept responsability. If however, installation caused the fault then the OP has learned an expensive lesson.
Even if they accept fault though all you would get is the problem fixed & nothing for any consequential damages as reaper said.
ah for some reason i was thinking we where talking about a side mount sc so now the whole manifold thing makes more sense so my bad
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out
the supercharger was fitted by a performance shop with a good name and they have had problems in the past with harrop, so i dident just fit it myself. and i know its not the fastest car on the road but for that kind of money you would expect it to last more than 3 months... ive been in this industry for a while now and know enough. i thought you would understand but your too busy telling me your better than me so what ever, i was looking after the next person looking for good service coz thats what where missing these days.
btw i didnt post in this section, i have no idea how it got here
In your first post ever on this forum, you bagged a product and or company.......
You posted this in my forum area........
You said in your first post that you installed a blower, now you said you had someone else fit it.
So if there was a fault with the component, WHY are they charging you to repair there problem?
Did you take any photo's of the cooler problem?
Was it really a fault or did the piston let go, and spray the cooler with engine particles from the piston, which made the coolers get damaged?
Is the bore in the block cracked or split?
We arnt missing a good service here, maybe its not Harrops problem at all, ive never had a drama with Harrop's service, they do always get in contact with me with in an hour or 2.
Sound sto me liek you should be going after your installer...$50 says you won't name them, but your happy to bag harrop.

yep, that's the way, join a forum to bad mouth a brand... Isn't there something in the forum terms and conditions about that?
I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on tape somewhere
since harrop only make top mount sc's you wont get a massive top end dyno figure as the sc's are made for of the line boost.did the sc fail or the engine if your engine couldnt handle the supercharger its not harrops fault
thanks for the replies, when i first had the problem, the car went back to the mechanics. im not baggin harrop as a product becouse i loved the outcome. after the mechanic had a problem i tried to contact them myself and thats were i had difficulty getting a responce. i hope to have it back on the road soon and am almost willing to pay them just to get it back. im sorry if i posted in the wrong forum and im sorry if im too wingy i wanted to know what i was in for, if anyone had problems, but it could just be me, thank you very much. cheers.
I have had 2 warranty claims with Harrop regarding "EXCESSIVE" oil leak from the rear seal on my supercharger. Both times i have had excellent prompt service from them with no hassel. I also had an intermittant throttle body fault that i couldn't prove to them, and they still replaced the throttle body no problem. I'm very happy with Harrops service. Great products and Great service in my view.
might talk to mechanic tomorrow. thanx for the reply, btw the engine was still running when it had initial problems it was smelling of coolant and had excessive use of it. the motor was inspected to find the bore had problems as well as the valve. i do not expect harrop to fix this but just to call me back would be nice, i now have a new motor in and cannot wait to get it blown again still set up for sc so no point retuning for na. cheers
i have a harrop top mount and i love it .. i now side mounts have much bigger figures hp wise but the curve on the harrop is just awsome with plenty of torque and ive only got a hh112 ... ive seen figures of a hh122 and the curve is more straight up then a nice progressive curve
i like mine anyway =]
