cam upgrade ls1

hey planning a cam upgrade on ls1 in 2002 monaro. need advice like i heard you have to remove aircon then regas it when refitted, also heard you can just remove all the bolts but one (on air con) pivot it out of the way to get the old cam out and new one in, and any tips on a good cam, I want it really lumpy but still street drivable for weekends!

You don't need to regas just bend the condenser out of the way while pulling cam out and in.

Re what cam there are millions of specs to choose whats good for some others hate. Lumpy a 232/234 comp is lumpy and nice in a M6 with 3.9 gears but likes to drink a bit 16>17 around town for my daily SV8.
