    Default Poor 0-100 VX LS1

Amout to get an exhaust done on the weekend so I though I may time to car to get a baseline for comprision.

    VX, A4, LS1, 2 hole mod, Berlina, 118,000km
with about 220kg in the car
    0-100km/h = 7.2secs

Trac control Off, Power mode On
    Stalled up to 1,500rpm
It sounded clean getting of the line, a little bit of wheel spin etc. WTF why so slow? I though they were supposed to get 6.4secs. Any ideas why I've lost 0.8secs?

Also what time should I get 0-100 with extractors/cats/exhaust + DuSpeed OTRCAI + MAFLess Tune

Its a ten year old car with 118,000kms might have something to do with it. I'm sure the manufacturer's claims were slightly optimistic when new as well.

I havent test my VY but even with the tune I dont see it being much quicker than 7 to 100

Ok, thanks. Looks like I don't need to go chasing issues with it.

Also the 7.2 was averaged over 4 runs; as I allowed that the stop watch isn't the best form of accurate measuring. We did swap driver and passenger for the last 2 runs and still got within 0.1 secs.

Has anyone else tested their stock 0-100 times; and also with the standard stage 1 mods.

yea my vr v6 with all bolt ons does roughly 6.8's, vx are alot heavier than a vr though, but you have the v8, not too sure but 7.2 seems a bit low to me, parents have a vt supercharger stock and that does roughly 6.4 seconds 0-100km'h
Vs eco 3.8, extractors, 2.75" exhaust, roller rockers, cammed, bored out 20, t5 manual, rolling on king springs all way round with monroe gt shocks all way round, every door has a ding but looks can be very deceaving

Try removing the 220kg and put in some fresh plugs and clean the air filter and try it again.

The 220kg is allowing the driver and passenger and some for extra junk. I could get rid of some weight but overall not that much.
Air filter was replaced not that long ago, but will look at the plugs and even leads.

But I get the exhaust in the morning; woohoo can't wait.

Remove the passenger, spare tire + jack and the mat that covers them and the extra junk that should save you around 100 maybe 100+KG's and that my friend makes a big difference.

    G'Day

When I purchased my VX SS it was stock, Auto, with 130000kms. Like you I was getting a similar time to 100, and it felt (for a lack of a better word) lazy. You would floor it and you could almost hear it sigh in protest. Its just that the stock VX SS 'only' did 225kw @ the flywheel. When I decided to do it up I put new plugs and leads, a k&n filer (standard air box, 2 hole mod, OTRCAI came later) and Brad @ Enhanced installed extractors, cats, exhaust and an LS1 edit, and it did 202rwkw on his dyno. Felt so much more responsive, so much faster. With the CAI I can only speculate how much it does now, but the mods you plan to do are worthwile, you will notice a massive difference when you get it back.

What fuel are you using mate? The LS1's have two timing tables and can only access the higher table through using 98 RON (Ultimate, V Power etc). It takes a couple of tanks and you wont notice any difference immediately. Might make a bit of a difference after a couple of tanks though???

Thanks for all the good feedback so far...

Got back from the weekend away. Scott and Travis from Scotts Rods in Ipswich Qld fitted up the 1 3/4 extractors, 3inch cats and twin 2.5inch exhaust using XForce gear. (all for an excellent price too)

At first I though geeze a bit quite. Driving it around it does have a nice V8 note in the background; but when you plant it you get the distinct strong V8 bark, a nice clean sound. On the trip home at 100km/h there is less drone than before, and that definite V8 sound when you overtake. So a really nice sounding system, almost no drone, and I can fly under the radar when needed.

Fuel it had 95 in it, this time it had about half 95 and half 98.

Fuel economy on the highway seems to be about 0.2 to 0.3L/ 100km better.
Performance 0-100km is now 6.8sec using the same test area as before.

I send the PCM of to Steve in the morning.

Ive got a VY Berlina wagon, 150k kms, cat back, oztrack mafless tune, 2 hole mod, and new plugs, leads, fluids and good tyres.

Stalled to ~1500 in pwr and tc off, over four runs I got 5.9s - 6.2s - 5.9s - 6.0s, on the same straight flat road.
Im 90kg plus say 50kg of tools and sub in the back. Using 98ron fuel, measured using gtech.
