    whats the average temp of a ls1?
    mine was running at 97 o.O

    Thats perfectly normal. Many cars range from low 90's up to and around 100 degrees also.

    Do you notice any improved throttle response or general feeling of power with the cooler thermostat? The air in the engine bay would be cooler so there should be some difference noticed.

    Yeah but what you gain in engine bay temps (bugger all) you lose in burning efficiency inside the head. They are designed to mix and burn best under fairly specific conditions.. they didn't just pick factory thermostat temperature out of a hat.

    Agree with above post. N/A engines are most efficient when running right on the limit of detonation.

    Also will take the engine longer to warm up which isnt a good thing.

    Exactly, a hot engine is an efficient engine. It makes me laugh sometimes when people say their car is running hot when it is only around the 90 - 110 deg mark. 100 deg is not hot, considering the combustion temps are up around 400-500+ deg. The cooling system has a big job to do and it does it fairly well. I'd be more concerned that an engine is running too cold.
