hey people.
i have a VY series II SS ute.
mods done so far:
Comp cam (mild cam, spec's unknown)
OTR intake
Maffles tune
Pacemaker extractors
Custom twin 2 1/2 exhaust with X-force stainless hi-flow cats and Red Back high flow muffler.
got a new clutch going in on Wednesday (TEX Z grip clutch with a Ripshift), so more power is on the line.
i have been thinking a storker kit, but what are some other mods i can do to get some good numbers with out going forced induction (not yet anyway).
want to see more then a typical commodore fitted with an exhuast, then check my thread out... link broken cuase i dont own a tuff car, i just made it up...
Aside from spending lots of cash on little things for minimal gains eg MSD coils, fast manifold, larger TB, best to save for the stroker kit. About 10K i think drive in and out.
actualy i wouldnt mind a larger TB. i keep reading everywhere that these motors love air.
and Dammmm!!! was not expecting stroker kit to be that much. i just want the kit, and probs fit myself.

You could get the manifold and TB setup (85-92mm) for about $1,500. Apparently it's around the 20hp gain mark. I would dare say that would also be after a decent dyno tune, another $1k +
I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on tape somewhere
diff gears, bigger thottle body, heads. ive heard the fast manifolds dont do much unless u have stroker kit or turbo or blower.

depends on how much more power you want some 383's will give you 450rwhp depending on whats in it
Diff gears and brakes.

my understanding is 383 is a stroker kit wich most LS1 owners stroke there 347's to
(Kingston_99 QUOTEyeah diff gear is on the list. i thought about brakes, but at the prices i got quoted....hell no! i mite find some Maloo ones.[/QUOTE]
Braided lines and good fluid will be a worthy upgrade for minimal outlay.Have you tried Race Brakes(Buisness)?
If you go diff gears make sure you use genuine and not aftermarket if you want a quiet diff. This is going to be the mod that will bring a wide smile to the face, bring the package together.Id be looking at a Harrop diff cover to shortly.
As someone mentioned,do you have valvesprings done?
Diff gears would be the next; I guess the issue here is if you go 3.9's and later go forced induction you may have to change ratios again.
If you are going to a larger throttle body you should also go to a intake manifild to suit, as the inlet to the stock manifold is only 75mm.

thanks for all the info guys, i gess i will just keep doing my research as i dont realy know where to start. i mite start of with a bigger zorst (purely just for the sound), then get a bigger cam with valves as well, then some heads, then (maybe) a stroker kit if i have the $$$$.
my mind keeps jumping from one to the next.

best and cheapest way would be get a blower or turbo set up now then upgrade all them little things down the track it would make more sense to do it that way as you can buy parts that suit forced inductions instead of having to change stuff later on to suit. plus it will be the cheapest way to get good power. very streetable power also.

If manual get 4.11 diff gears, I have and wouldn't go back at best thing I ever did(after mafless tune)
