Water pump in my vz clubby ls2 has just gone and just wondering what has to come off the engine to replace the waterpump just not sure, some guy at hsv said they have have replaced a few waterpumps in vz ls2 6l's best price i got on the waterpump was $335 for waterpump plus gaskets $12 plus 5 litres of coolant $50,and also airconditioner belt has gone squelling as well have to replace but it is a tricky to get to as have been told have to rip out the twin thermo fans' and radiator to get to that area and use a breaker bar to change it.
Any advice guys on what to do would help a lot.
What they have told you is the correct method, i would also advise some loctite on the crank bolt when you torque it up.
Crank bolt???????????????????
I did mine a few months ago and all i took off was
The radiator shroud/cover
Intake pipe, maf and throttle body
Serpentine belt
Top radiator hose
You can remove and replace the belt tensioner once you have the water pump out as its only attached to the water pump
That was on an LS1 but I cant see there being much difference
Check out My SV8 One Tonner
You can get a lot farther with a kind word and a gun than a kind word alone
Lol my bad i was still thinking of the other thread. haha.
i was able to replace the a/c belt in my vy without removing the radiator or fans. it is a thigh squeeze but defiantly do able.
