Have just managed to find a very cheap powerdyne supercharger at a price that i would have been mad to pass up. I intend to fit it to my basically stock ls1(has the usual mods, exhaust, extractors hsv air pipe & air box etc) Now i am understanding that as the vehicles maf will have to be removed it will need a mafless tune, run a 6psi pulley(has one on it at the moment but not sure if its correct) & you should be ok on a basic modded ls1. But the small problem(well to me anyway) is that the supercharger was originally fitted to a Vt V6 so the outlet pipe goes in the wrong direction(towards the firewall & not towards the radiator) & obviously the brackets etc will be needed. I have found that you can buy the brackets from various places as well as pulleys, belts etc but what i need is a replacement outlet housing(housing where the pipes connect up to the throttle body) to suit an LS1. Are these able to purchased anywhere?? They seem to be just a bolt on fitting & seem reasonably simple to swap over, well i hope so anyway. If anyone knows of where i can get this housing or even purchase a completely stuffed one cheap to use the housing off it would be appreciated. All thoughts opinions are appreciated. I have thought of just using whats there & running a longer pipe work but it seems simpler to change the housing.hmmm:
Just had a wee thought, rather than muck around changing housings etc,is there a possibilty it would be easier just to get an intercooler & run it through that??? any thoughts on this possibilty to resolve the problem?
