    Default E3 20th Anniversary Maloo

hey guys, about to take delivery of an E3 20th Anniversary Maloo, and was considering taking it to walkinshaw performance to get the full works.. (supercharger, cai, full exhaust, cams, short shift transmission).. although i thought i should see with you guys out there first if there were any other brands that would be better since i am newb to tuning cars..

Another opinion i would be interested in is if it would be better to leave this stock standard in hopes of increasing (or maintaining) a high resale value, as it is 1 of only 100 being built

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Just a heads up, you'll pay more for a 'Wankinshaw pack' than getting the same parts (they just re-brand the parts and charge more for them) elsewhere. Pretty sure the cam they use is just an LS7 cam (nothing flash), so you're better off getting a blower specific cam for the Harrop blowers they use. If those mods are the path you want to take then a Harrop blower, a VCM OTR (these come in the Harrop blower kits), reputable cam (a good tuner will have certain cam brands they use and prefer) and a KPM full exhaust will get you better results and cost you less.
Harrop have reduced prices at the moment too, so it's worth checking them out.

It is a "Hazard" yellow e3, build 056/100. looks absolutly amazing in the flesh! It was purchased from berwick victoria.

At the moment it is still completely stock although my last e2 maloo had a walkinshaw perfromance pack put on and i am considering just putting that on, because the bimodal exhaust still doesnt provide the greatest note.

Got any pics of it man?

But yeah, if you mod it, make sure you keep all the factory parts you take off it, even wheels

There's no reason why you shouldn't mod it. Yes there may only be 100 built but it's still just a car and the OP wants more options. As has been stated mod away but keep all the stock parts.

    Also, to Wikky,
as you mention at the begining of the thread, how do the KPM exhausts sound?
as you can see in the pictures above I also have a red E2 (that im trying to sell at the moment!) which has a 3" walkinshaw cat back, which sounds pretty good IMO,
I dont suppose you have heard both by any chance?

the kpm ones are fairly deep sounding, but do sound a bit like straight thru pipe at full tilt...

personally the best sounding zoorst ive heard on a VE was a pacemaker twin 3 inch system with 4 into 1's and 3 inch cats, very smooth and deep note the whole way thru the rev range.

but being pacemaker, it would of cost a packet :P

Very nice rig mate, well done.

Yep I've heard plenty of KPM systems (2.5" and 3", cat backs and full systems). They're an awesome sounding exhaust and the build quality is fantastic. I've also heard plenty of Walkinshaw systems and (personally) prefer the sound of the KPM. I also must add though, pretty much all these cars I'm talking about are either slightly or heavily modified. End of the day, exhaust sound is subjective and what I reckon sounds great the next bloke may think sounds horrible.
