    Default [LS1] Ignition leads.

    Hi,
I'm just looking for opinions on ignition leads to suit the LS1. Gotta replace the stardard one as they've done 130k.

I have the money to replace them with some decent items, but whats the go with them?
Is there one brand that works better then another?
I realise there's bugger all gains to be had, but seeing as there is very little difference in price between standard and aftermarket, I figuered I would investigate.

Thing is stock leads are more expensive then the other brands.
$160 for a set of standard leads or I can get a set of eagle 10.5mm for $120.

Ahh bugger that wasn't up when I was looking. Too late .
Ahh well, I got some Eagle 10.5mm leads and GM plugs for $200. So not horrible.
What is horrible is a fugging oil pressure switch for $88.

If you can use the genuine head shields with the new leads. Have heard of the boots touching the extractors and burning through

Yeah, they were $200 here in aus and I need them ASAP car wasn't running. Leads and plugs were 30k over due...

Doing the o2 sensors at the same time, plus the oil pressure switch. So a $400 proposition. :S

Just like changing spark plugs mate, just needs to be done. 100k is the normal life span apparently. For $120 for the both why not?
Driver side o2 sensor plug is a bastard on the LS1, but not imposible.

Best leads by far are the stock red vy leads $160 at motor traders I just took off a set of top gun leads and replaced with stockers.

Haven't noticed a difference either way.
Leads are leads unless they're totally rooted IMO.

Yeah ACdelco know a thing or two.

Stock ftw but only due to the longetivity in comparrison.Seems to be the way with the L67 too, alot more faliures from aftermarket than OEM.Boost seems to find them out very early but the OP wont have that problemor will he one day?

I've had OEM leads snap of in my hand. Mainly because they're stuck on the plug, which I've found common on LS1's. The back drivers side especially.

For the record. ACDelco was started by the same bloke who started Champion ignition products. AC is Alfred Champion. (or Alfonz I can't remember)
