Hi,
A week ago I was driving my car through town, and it decided to die in the arse.
Missing and backfiring idling at about 500rpm and shaking like a dog. Basically felt like it was running on seven cylinders.
I already had an engine light for the oil pressure switch, but this didn't seem to be the same issue.
I've replaced the ignition leads, spark plugs and o2 sensors today. As well as the oil pressure switch.
Started it up and it idles fine. But it stumbles at about 1100-1500rpm. It revs fine through the range after that.
I'm also getting an engine light after it stumbles.
Does anyone have any idea's?
It will most likely be you PCV hose going into the throttle body. They split and crack causing engine to register lean mixture.
Could also be a dirty maf sensor or faulty AIT sensor.
Took it for a drive this morning and it seems to be okay. I still have the engine light. But perhaps thats due to the oil pressure switch still? I might have to get the bloke with his magic black remote.
Either way, It'll drive there now. It seriously felt rooted the other day.
