Default Surging and backfire. (FUGGIN CAR)

Righto, Cruising along at 60kmh i noticed my car surging a bit, hunge two hundred RPM or so.
When I come to a stop at an intersection it shook like it wanted to stall, only did it once how ever. When I got home it seemed to idle fine, and revs okay. But does sound a little flat to me.

Dad said poor some metho in the tank, could be water/moisture from sitting around for 4months. Will give that a crack as its cheap.
But I'm thinking Cam angle/ crank angle sensor?

No engine lights, this is an LS1 powered VY (Series 2)

I'm no expert but I would not be putting metho in the tank.... Yeah it worked for older(Carby) type motors.

I would be putting some injector cleanner and a squirt of good fuel(VPower or BP Ultimate or 100 octane) and go for a longish drive @ speed.

Metho because it displaces the water and burns it off. Injector cleaner will not. It's only a white spirit. Like E98.

Pull the fuel filter out ons check if there is water in it by draining into a clear plastic bottle, water will sink. Then replace the filter as it sounds like you have a slight fuel blockage.

That's what I'm thinking too. Whether it be at the filter or the injectors.

I'd suggest one of the 02 sensors is crook. Upsets the fuel trims and causes what you are experiencing. Look at the o2 switchpoint rate on a scan tool and the LH and RH fuuel trims, or just buy 2 new ones they are not that dear. Also check the breather hoses as they leak and creat vacuum leaks that lead to mixture/fuel trim problems, rough idle and so on.

    Already got new O2 sensors.

Finding a vacuum leak will be a bitch of a job, but Its feasible.

10 threads later i would seriously suggest you take your car to a mechanic or sell it.

I'm with Gen on this just take it somewhere and pay too get fixed or sell it and get a new car as you are getting nowhere with it by yourself and its just costing you more money fixing and testing parts that are ok, not too mention all the frustration that this saga has caused...

Haven't had a scan tool to check it properly, will have when it rolls up.
I'll get it sorted, never you mind :P
