    Default LSX block questions

    Hi guys,

In the near future I plan to put an LSX block in a VY SS, my questions are???

    1. Would anything from an LS1, withstand the LSX block such as cam, roller rockers?, would it even fit?

    2. Would you need custom extractors since its a much bigger block?

These questions might sound stupid but any help will be muchly appreciated

    Cheers guys

Maybe give these guys a call, http://www.thunderperformance.com.au...p/19213964.htm , they could either help or tell you who can.

The inside's of the block are different and it has extra webbing etc and thicker casting and made from iron but the outside dementions of the block will be same as stock. Exhaust headers would come down to what heads you use.
Wouldnt go to all the expense of lsx block to keep stock internals. Stock ls6/ls1 blocks have been proven to handle 500kws.

^ Correct, the LSX block is ideally suited for people chasing extremely strong engine for racing or high boost.

And in that ad it says it will accept most GEN IV gear.

any part from the ls series of motor can be used as they are interchangable with the block. but why spend the extra coin to use stock internals. now if you were going to take it out to 427ci or 440ci that would be a different story
