    Default Knock sensors.

    Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if anyone has had a knock sensor die, if so what would the symptoms be?
I would think it could unnecessarily retard timing and generally make the car drive like a dog.

A failing/failed knock sensor flicks you into the low octane timing table which will slowly recover back to the high octane table (around 45mins of mixed driving). The next time an event is triggered, it will put you back into the low octane table again. Yes, this will pull alot of spark and make it a dog to drive.

    Hmm.
See sometimes my car goes great, then randomly feels like its driving on 3cyls. Sometimes even threatens to stall. Never does though.

Ah fair enough, none of them. Thats why I'm having trouble pinpointing the issue.

Yeah I might have to, its just strange that its so intermittent. Usually when a coil goes, it doesn't come back again. And they haven't even clicked over 130k yet.
