well i got quoted about 800 to get it done on a dyno if i didnt already have a mafless tune but he said if i already had one and just wanted a retune its only 100 so im getting extractors and highflow cats in a couple weeks and that workshop that told me 100 is fitting them so i will just get it retuned then and they will fix anything that needs to be fixed with the tune so all up it cost me 280 so win win either way but overall im very happy with it for 180 bucks

Do you notice any detonation at all?

Its very cheap, makes me wonder why is all.

I just sent a message to the Ebay seller to find out more info. I'd be keen if its not dodgy.

Apparently you can tell them what's done to the car and they'll tailor the mod to suit. For the same price.

none what so ever mate it has never driven better, and wikky i only have a cat back exhaust and will be getting an otr soon so i told him that and he tuned it to suit, he can tune it to suit any mods although i think tunes to suit cams and superchargers are a little more expensive also when i get extractors and highflow cats he even offerd to retune the pcm for free

Strongly contemplating giving him a go.

If he is legit, the full marks on the price. Might bring some competition to the scene.

I should've been asked my question in a different way. I know how mail order tunes work, I meant was Slepar's mail order tune for an unmodded car. Tunes for stock cars are pretty generic and not that involved.

    Ah yeah true.
I would fork out for a proper dyno tune for anything with a decent cam in it. If you can afford to do the cam, the dyno tune aint much more.

i emailed the guy and he said its an exrta x amount for the mafless tune with a cam mods added in, wasn't much more for one with a cam but he said best to get it touched up on a dyno after wards as every car reacts differently with a cam and depending on specs, but he said you just let him know what mods and what for etc and will do to suit, i think he's also cheaper as you send your pcm to him not like others were i think you have to pay x amount as a holding deposit and they send you a pcm then when you send yours back you get x amount back, so this way is less stuffing around too.

He can supply a reconditioned PCM with tune for $350.

    Thats still very cheap.
But $150 is quiet attractive and I don't need my car every day....
