Hi, I'm looking for a cat back for my vx ss, but there is so many to choose! All I know is that I'm after twin 2 1/2 cat back,
thanks
It depends on how much u want to spend and if you want droan or not, you got ur cheap ones like xforce ect then ur expensive ones like kpm and di fillipo which usually have better sound and pretty much no droan
I will put it this way, how much should I spend because I don't want it to be to drony, a little bit is ok
difilippo twin 2.5 mild steel for 650
Where abouts in melb?

Can't go past Pacemaker IMO.
I'd avoid anything with an X-pipe is sound is important to you. I can link to a vid of mine if need be.
i really like my x force twin 2.5 and it has a x in it got it for dirt cheap but the best sounding catback ive had by far
The Xforce xpipe is just a restriction. IMO it sounds revolting, like a thrashy V6.
If you want a cheap system, get one of them and cut the X pipe out, replace it with just straight pipe. You'll pick up some bottom end torque. It only cost about $60 to do it.
Here is the standard Xforce system.
Here is the exact same exhaust with the mod.
Now, this one trumps them all.
to be honest they all sound really bad i dunno if its just the camera and arent they all just catback only?
Allot of it is the camera.
They're all too loud for it.
The last one is a full system
i had hsv headers standard cats and a redback twin 2.5"
it was very quite
now its got 4-1 pacemakers no cats and the same twin 2.5" and it sounds very angrey
heard sureflow do some good cat backs including a twin 2.5" into 3.5" single with twin tips, meant to be really good.
the only 1 i have had a price for was the sureflow twin 2 1/2 inch cat back for $550 installed, has any got a surelow exhaust?
I've got a Sureflo 3.5" single 'quiet' catback but I've also got headers and big cats too so that wouldn't give you a great indication of sound. Before I put the Sureflo on, I had an X-Force twin 2.5" catback and the sound difference isn't huge, the most noticeable difference is the X-Force is 'barkier' and more raspy. I actually loved the sound (the car at that time was cammed too) but it was a tad loud (for me) and just wanted a more subtle note at cruising speed. I also wanted to be proactive in terms of getting letters from the EPA and being reported for being too loud.
I have an xforce twin 3inch and it was very loud and very raspy, I ended up replacing the rear muffler with a much larger one and it made a huge difference to the sound, alot better now in my opinion.
Who cares if he has no cats?
His problem not ours.
People will still tune it, if they were worried about EPA issues they'd never touch the tune to begin whit.
or he could be from new zealand?
Soop, last vid sounds good nice and deep.
I have on mine a set of 4-1s with a modded vy maloo front half with the 2 h-pipes then deleated the centre mufflers and got a big rear resi an it sounds good for a bolt on engine.
Cheers Blow thru.
Get yourself some high flow cats!
