    Default Comp 232/234

Does anyone have this cam in a auto LS1?
I'm thinking about getting it and a stallie too.

I want to know what it's like on the street, and whether it's easy to drive or not

mates got something like that in his vx gts, idle isnt too bad, uses loads of fuel no low end power... sounds good but imo your putting a "race" camshaft in very much a street car

if i was going that cam, id be looking larger convertor, getting the heads done and using it as a semi street/strip car.

depends what you want from it

imo my ss is a daily, i think its quite and nice car too drive and too live with
id hate too turn it into an angrey pig that doesnt idle has no useable low down power etc

maybe jump the ls1 forum there is endless cam threads there

with mine ill be going 228/228 112 comp cam, ls2 timing chain
springs, mild head work, decent valve seats and increase the comp

ported out throttle body and match ported manifold

along with my 4-1 ' twin 2.5" exhaust, 1.8 rockers and gts intake id like too think it should go 260-290rwkw

return decent fuel econ, decent ish idle and a decent whack of power

    although mine is manual.

it all comes down to your tuner and how good he is. big cams can drive like a standerd car if he is good enough. i have a 216/216 probably the smallest anyone has put into a car with 4200 stall and 3.9s that runs 12.1 and i have no problem with the wife driving it. i will be trying one last time on friday night to crack the 11. but that is beside the point. i am putting a 239/ 239 with 600+in lift with a heap of other mods to the internals. so give me a few weeks and ill post some vids with it just to prove it can be done. the engine gets riped out next week.

Don't hesitate to go a big lock up stall it's the best thing I ever did and you don't loose any drivability

I'll admit hesitant to put a big stallie in
I've heard it's not good for the street

No way man, stallies are brilliant! If your going with a cam and you have an auto, it will actually make it MORE drivable. Not having a stallie will make it more of a pig to drive in my opinion...
Modern day stallies are quite good, you don't have to get to the stall point to move the car, it will just slip at the lower revs and it's completely drivable, hardly a noticable difference to the stock converter. But when you put the foot down...that's when the stallie comes to life, brilliant acceleration! You won't be able to wipe the smile off your face.

They are such a miss understood part of a car and like he said made the car more drivable. my wife hates cars has an auto herself and ever opportunity she can will drive mine now it has the lock up stall.
