Bit of a fail doing the 2 hole mod

Just tried to take the bottom half of the airbox outin my vx ss and I can't work out how to get the box out, I know I need a special star shaped tool to undo the bottom of the box but do I need to take the coolent bottle out? Or is there an easier way?

Just pull. The rubber grommits lift of the posts, this is by design. Same with the coolant pressure tank (which you need to lift off to get to the airbox).

I can't just pull it is screwed down under the coolent bottle

... Lift the coolant bottle off the stands, its held on with the same rubber grommits the airbox is. Once the coolant bottle is out of the way, lift the airbox.

It's a bit of a waste of energy :P..
I cut the whole front out of my old airbox to see what would happen. Nothing. Put a stock one back in and it drove exactly the same.

you've got to use a bit of force to get the coolant bottle off it's mounts. one is under it, the other is against the guard. just rock it of it's mounts and a bit of wd40 on the grommets when you're putting it back in place makes it an easier job. It did that mod and had the 4 inch GTS MAF pipe too and felt it made a slight difference.
